Liking for a powerful100sq inch thin beam players frame. Constant beams only

Hey guys I’m currently using the blade 98L 16/19. I am running it weighed up to my deserved specs but I’ve been feeling like I would play better with a 100 sq inch racket. I some times desire a larger sweet spot and I feel it would be beneficial for those on the run shots as it’s more forgiving. I prefer the feel and performance of thinner beams. Any recommendations that have solid control while still being powerful. I would prefer a 16/19 but if you have 16/20s I’ll take those as well! My limit for a racket being considered a “thin” beam is anything over 21.5mm.

I’m interested in the Pro Staff X, but I’m concerned about the 315g and more importantly Wilson’s terrible quality control so I can’t just trust what I’m getting unless it’s professionally checked. I also stumbled upon a babolat pure storm GT team. It’s 21mm and 100 but I heard from the very little reviews I could find on it that it wasn’t always controllable.

My current idea is to talk to tw customer service and ask to specifically get an under spec Wilson pro staff x to help lower the swing weight and static weight.

Any suggestions would be appreciated greatly!! I’ll check out whatever you guys give me :)

-Cheers!

Gravity Pro and MP.

The MP seems to line up better for you being open pattern. MP is a bit light and does well with lead tape, cause the Tour is not available in the US.

If 315 is too heavy, then you aren't looking for a players frame.

That being said the Prince ATS Textreme Tour 100 290 seems to fit your spec

315 is not too much for me. My blade 98L may sound like I desire really light frames but as long as it’s head light I should have no prob. My current frame weighs 330. I just seek lighter frames so I have more margin for mods if needed.

Oh ok gotcha. Sounds like The Pro Staff X is the way to go then. You can always use the matching service that Tennis Warehouse provides and find a few under spec around 308-310 unstrung

Agreed! But I think it’s a little pricy to not just get the exact specs of the racket you desire, but instead get what you get out of the first ten they check plus additional fees to find what you actually need. Very frustrating in my opinion. That’s the only reason I’m hesitant about even doing it.

Blade100v9 is my racket of choice and I recommend you demo it. I tried Head Speed MP and the Speed MP L, Ezone100, Vcore100, Volkl V1 Pro, and Volkl 8 Pro and Blade100v9 was the winner for me. Best combo of control, spin and power. I think the control is similar to a 98" head thin beam frame with a touch more power and a bigger sweet spot. I didn't demo the Blade100V9 Light because it's stiff and the Blade100v9 has a flex of 60 which is soft but it plays a little firmer than it's ranking.

If you were concerned about the extra static weight of the PS X and/or Gravity Pro, you might consider the ProKennex Ki Q+ 5 — 300g 100" 16x20 21.5mm 3ptsHL 65RA 329sw. Larger sweet spot and slightly more powerful than the Blade 100 in stock form, plus much more true/direct feel than either the v9 or Auxetic 2 layups. As long as you could get along with the Kinetic tech and "maracas" sound, it could be a winner. Plus very nicely priced and QA/QC tends to be better than Head or Wilson.

I have a ProKennex Q+5 Pro. It has plenty of power and a more controlled 16x20 pattern. The racquet generates pace by itself :)
