Liquidmetal Radical MP Tour?

Indy Tennis

Semi-Pro
I recently bought some Head LM Radical Mp racquets. On the specs paper hung in the hoop it also shows a Liquidmetal Radical MP Tour.

The LM Rad Tour version is 11.5 oz. (unstrung) versus 10.4 for the standard MP.

Has anyone had experience with this racquet?

TW does not sell them.

Seems like we're talking something very akin to a LM Prestige MP.

I'd like to try these if anyone can point me in the right direction.

Hi there is a LM Radical MP Tour, I think TW did sell them (maybe for a short period).

I have never hit with it, my friends, which plays that stick use the tour version. The control should be much better (weight) than with the standard one (in their opinion)...

Here are the specs (European):

Technische Daten:

Technologie: HEAD Liquidmetal

Rahmenprofil (frame): 21 mm

Kopfgröße (head size): 630 cm²

Gewicht (unbespannt) (weight/unstrung): 325 gr.
Balance (unbespannt/unstrung): 315 mm
Länge (length): Standard, 685 mm
Bespannmuster (string pattern): 18/19
Griffstärke (grip size): 1 -5
Empfohlene Saite (rec. String): Perfect Control
Griffband (grip): HydroControl

I've used this racquet for about a year now and love it. To me, it felt more crisp than the LM Prestige MP.

I just turned my LM Radical MP into a LM Radical MP Tour. It was my first time customizing a racquet and it was easy. Took me about 30 mins.

I followed the excellent instructions TW has on customizing.

Got some lead tape, lead fishing weights and cotton balls, then put (four) 4 1/2 in. strips of lead tape at 3 and 9 o'clock.

I took off the grip and the butt cap. The Radical's handle inside is mainly hollow to begin with so I stuffed in a good amount of cotton until it was tight. I left about two inches or so of room.

Then I wrapped the little lead weight balls in cotton and put them in the handle to match the weighting I did on the hoop. I then put the butt cap back on, stapled it, and applied a replacement grip.

It added just under an ounce to the racquet, balance is unchanged and it looks great.

I'm heading to the courts right now to play test it.

The LM Radical tour is discontinued. I demoed it and it was great, better than liquidmetal prestige mp, it had a nice firm, crisp feel, great balance, great feel and really easy to manuever. It is a really good racquet. I also got a good amount of spin with it and great pace on groundies.
