Liquidmetal Radical Plus or Instinct?

Hello everyone, how's it going. I'm looking for a new tennis racket and I've narrowed it down to two rackets:

Head '07 Liquidmetal Instinct Tennis Racquet and the Liquidmetal Radical Mid Plus.

I am a 16 year old, 5'7". Intermediate skill level (probably a 2.5- 3.0 player). Looking for a quick racket (more racket head speed the better). Which one do you suggest, or do you have a better suggestion altogether? (trying to stay within the 110 price range)

Thanks for your help!

At your level I would suggest that you go with the Instinct, it's going to give you more power over the LM Rad MP, it's also not overly stiff so you won't have to worry about elbow problems while you are still learning and developing your form. I would also recommend the Dunlop M-Fil 300, the best way to go about it is to demo them from TW if you can.

Hi,

I would go with the Instinct. It has a much larger sweetspot and it is less demanding than the Radical to be sure. The M-Fil 300 is also a nice frame at a nice price. I know many here love the M-Fil 300, but I found it to be clubby, have a small sweetpot and somewhat underpowered. I felt like the HM 300G was much better along with the Aerogel 300. The Instinct is at a great price now and is a "quick racket" even with the SW of 320 or so.

Steve

Out of those three I would go for the instinct. I think the radical is suggested for higher levels because it has less power, so against bigger hitters you have more control. The Mfil 300 is a strange one.. I didn't like it very much in the short time I had it. Its another racket that requires a full swing to get good power, I found the balance to be a bit strange as well, something didn't feel right. Also the stock grip really sucks!!

theone,

Ahhhh... you hit the nail on the head with the "The Mfil 300 is a strange one.. I didn't like it very much in the short time I had it". I picked up 3 brand new based on the specs and the rave reviews here. Strung one up... 3 different times, different tensions and strings. Never could play very well with it.

I would agree with everyone here as to going with the Instinct and (insert series here) 300, but I would also add the spin machine Prince TT Warrior MP/OS. Both are very maneuverable and decently powered, and at $70, hard to beat that price. Not trying to hijack the thread, but does anyone know if they are trying to phase out the Warrior?:
