Murray Copil was 2019 match. I remember it vividly. Andy was crying for a minute at least after the match was over.Last night's Nishikori-Del Potro 2 AM finish reminded me of a list that I have kept through the years that tracks the latest finishes in men's pro tennis. I don't believe such a list is available anywhere online. Let me know of any corrections or additions and of course, I'll come back and update this post whenever needed.

And those from Acapulco really like to play in the early morning.Looks like AO schedulers are morons.
RG likes late matches lately.Interesting thanks 4 posting
Updated with the Djokovic/Musetti match which was the 9th latest finish ever!
To be fair, they only started doing night matches in 2020, so it's the latest in 5 years, yes. Hopefully the weather never causes them to have to go later again. So it was the latest match ever at the French Open, then? Probably the longest night session match too (Monfils/Baez lasted 3h50 last year). I doubt this record will be broken anytime soon.
Shhh…Would we have a match ending so late that it ends at dawn? It can perfectly be in summertime, at high latitudes
If outdoors, no need to keep the lights on.
Dawn Session?Shhh…
Don’t give the organisers any ideas.
And it wasn’t even a 5 set match.Added Zverev/Etcheverry from last night, the 2nd latest US Open finish ever!
Sabalenka’s start time after midnight on Friday was the latest start time in USO history.Do we have stats of latest start times of matches?
One is tied to the other.
In the old days they didn’t delay night matches that long in order for the night session fans to get into the stadium. I remember many a night session that was delayed by long day session(back then they had 2 men’s matches and 1 women’s match in the day session! Can you imagine that schedule today? Players would be finishing matches at 4 am) in the 90s where Graf or Seles played a night match in front of like no fans or where they finished their match before most of crowd was seated.Bc the Shelton/tiafoe match went til about 630-7 they couldn’t start the first night match til like 830-9.
Wimbledon implements a curfew and they seem to do fine.
These 2-3 am finishes can derail a players tournament. Imagine if zverev went a 5th set. He’s not going to sleep til 5-6 am.
If you are as big a muster fan as you say you are, how was it he was able to finish his matches on average so much quicker than djokovic? There’s no way in hell djokovic plays longer rallies than muster(esp when you factor in how many more free points Novak gets on serve) But muster rarely toweled off, so he didn’t need 30 seconds to serve on like every point like so many players today apparently need.Tim Henman's shot clock suggestions are delusional, in my opinion. You can't expect epic rallies, and gaining fans from that, while demanding faster play with rigid shot clock enforcement. The players are not androids, FFS.
I believe that players should be able to play at their own pace, fast and slow. Or maybe a rule where you get a guaranteed 20 seconds, but then you have to play at the server's pace. I'd prefer the former, though. If you are as big a muster fan as you say you are, how was it he was able to finish his matches on average so much quicker than djokovic?
