List Your Stringer; Its Best Attribute; Years Stringing

Tourna 300-CS

Good Quality at a decent price and no more flying clamps (nothing wrong with flying clamps but having fixed clamps makes it so much easier).

Stringing since the early 80s

New to me but used for 15+ years by the previous owner.

Good quality.
Cheap.
Indestructible.

Let's me make enough off stringing for others that my strings are free.

Does everything good and it's very reliable. I have a TF8000 but I still need to fix a few things, not sure which one I will maintain.
4 years stringing.

Wait... you're saying that you're torn between a TF8000 and a Prog. II ELS??? o_O
That seems hard to even fathom.

Not if you know the specifics, which you don't.
The TF8000 is very used and has a gap on the shaft on the turntable that I have yet to find a solution. I can repair it but I don't know how long everything else will hold because I don't know the machine historic.
The ELS on the other hand, was bought first hand, has a low stringing count and it's very well mantained. I have no doubt the TF8000 is a much superior machine.

The best attributes are the bases, clamps, and turntable IMO

There have been 7000+ rackets strung on the machine, I’ve been stringing for 42 years, but only on this machine for 5/6 years.

Alpha Ghost

Best Attribute is the mag brake

I used it for 3 college seasons and a 25k. Been in storage for 3 years

Baiardo

Best Attribute the ergonomic features. My back used to go out once or twice during college season from the amount of stringing when using the ghost and before that Star 5. Hasn't happened in 3 years on the Baiardo.

Almost 3 years and probably 4k rackets.

Overall stringing since 2012

Old trusty Klippermate, acquired when I was in high school around 1990. So it's about 30 years old.

Present machine SAM Pro Master , ( older Wilson Clone) ,
Has all features I need to string consistently.
Has good sturdy turn table, great clamps, and electronics. Been reliable for number of years now.
Only had to replace lcd screen.

Started stringing in 1968, was taught by old timer that sold me his old Serrano machine at that time.
Hard to believe that was 52 years ago. Time does fly. I was 13 years old.
Still have that old beast of a machine as well, although very rarely used.

Personal Machine: Ektelon Model H (original owner; purchased in 1986; pristine condition (only modifications are caster wheels, current Neos version clamps); one tension head tune up by TM several years ago (not sure needed but seemed prudent at the time). Thousands and thousands of racquets strung.

Best attribute(s): simple; built like a tank!

Stringing since: 1973 (like Jim e, learned at the feet of a master when I was 13).

Klippermate, bought in 1998 after being frustrated with high cost and difficulties with getting decent stringing from the local club.

Best attribute: SIMPLE and DURABLE

Stringing since 1998. It's fun. I like striving to be as precise as possible; saving ten minutes to do a mediocre job is bad savings.

Everything feels so premium but so far the rise and tilt is giving me a good high.

1992 - 2000 Alpha Drop Weight (should have bought the Klipper, better clamps and cam tensioner)
2001 - 2010 Gamma 4000 - Fantastic stringer for the price I bought used - but 2 pt clamp design was poor with excessive frame movement.
2010 - 2014 Gamma 5003 - Got a great deal on a used one but quickly realized I hated swivel clamps
2015 - present - NEOS 1000 with Wise

The NEOS is the perfect sweet spot for me. Having it is overkill now that I am a busy Dad, but downgrading and finding a used tabletop that I like is just not worth the hassle.

Best attribute is reliability - over 10,000 rackets strung on the 5000 in 7+ years and no problems!
