Doubtful for Texas football and basketball. I guess they could play football at a high school stadium while they build the new stadium, and basketball at a playground with some rims available.

What's also funny is their justification for not building on the originally proposed sight as "being too far" away. Granted, the site on the east side of I-35 maybe "closer" but it's no picnic of drive anywhere near the campus.

Soren and Glasspool won the NCAA doubles, pretty amazing considering they seemed to struggle a bit during the season !

Can't help with that, but we did steal A&M's women's coach at end of June.

My opinion for what it's worth:

    1. Civita-Telles
    2. Caruana
    3. Goldhoff
    4. Banzer
    5. Naumann
    6. Mee
    7. Scott

Harrison Scott isn't bad but I think he'll be a stretch to be in the starting 6. We'll know more about these guys in the next month or so once they play in some fall tournaments.

Thanks. Was hoping for Texas sake that the lineup I sketched was closer to reality. Scott had a couple of respectable first round Futures wins over the summer. I like the Longhorns chances a lot better if the 4 freshmen come in at the top of the lineup, leaving Goldhoff and Naumann as very solid 5 and 6.

Rubio to Coach at Denver. Sad to see this guy go. Great great guy and coach. Does Berque move up to the Asst Role full time now?

We had an open call to fill the final 2 scholarship women on our team, couldn't fill it. Sad.

I saw that open call posted. That's pretty rough with only five women. Can't even field a full lineup for each match at the moment.

No worries. Howard has a history of adding players in January (from overseas).

I may have spoke too soon about Scott - he won the Racquet Club Invitational in Midland beating Texas Tech's Tommy Mylnikov 6-2, 6-3 in the semis and then TCU's Trevor Johnson 7-5, 6-3 in the finals. Nice start to his collegiate career no doubt.

I noticed that Scott victory. He had a mixed run over the ITF season, but when playing well, seems capable of solid results against good competition.

Just a guess but he probably has a parent with Italian nationality. Being he's a kid and freshman in college it looks cool on his bio. I would too if I could, LOL!

Not looking good in Austin - in addition to Naumann leaving Caruana and Banzer are gone too.

I like how when you look for Caruna and Banzer on their website the only remains of them is the PR when they signed.

Wait, Banzer is still on the roster, what website are you talking about ? Also Caruna just lost 2 and 0 to a guy ranked #660 in the qualifying of the LA Futures, so I hope he's not turning pro.

When I looked at the roster to see for my own eyes a Naumann, Banzer and Caruna removed from the lineup on Tues., I could swear all three were missing. I even googled their names and clicked on the link to them on the roster and it sent me to a page with nothing on it. He's on there now.

I see that Banzer is there. When this was posted Tuesday I went and looked at the roster, I really thought all 3 were removed at that time. Maybe I missed it.
Happy New Year JL! Let me know if you have any trips scheduled to Memphis coming up.

Banzer wasn't enrolled in the fall and when his name dropped off the roster earlier in the week I figured that meant he wasn't coming and that's why they removed his name. Apparently he just got cleared this week.

Texas gets it done yesterday 7-0 vs ACU, and 6-1 vs Lamar - though the Lamar match was much closer than the score indicates. Interesting that neither Telles, nor Banzer played at all, and Goldhoff won both his matches in 3rd set super-breakers. Harrison Scott won both of his matches easily at number 2, and Julian Zlobinsky is playing above expectations at the #4 spot. Newly signed Colin Markes from Austin had a great result in his debut at #5, but was the only loss on the day in the 2nd half of the double header at #6 in straight sets. Without Telles and Banzer this Texas team could struggle against top 30 teams.

I think the match at Washington this weekend is going to be very telling of how the season may go. Washington is pretty good 1 through 4 but weaker down low. If Texas plays the same lineup as they did on Tuesday I think it'll probably be a 4-3 match with whoever wins doubles probably winning.

Pretty cool that Markes got some playing time, I know he and his dad have wanted him to play for UT badly, so good for them. Looks like the women's team picked up two new players.

Saw some of the match on live streaming. Could this be the worst Texas team in history?

Nobody should feel bad for Center. He had again brought Texas tennis to new lows. Will this team even make the tournament?

Last year's senior class should never have been 95% of the team.

This is ridiculous. They would rather leave and toil away in futures obscurity than play for Center. What does that tell you?

Caruana is doing well for himself, Naumann on the other hand seems to be done with tennis as a whole. Center must have ruined it for him

I am not an expert on Longhorn Tennis, so can somebody please explain to me why it is NOW that everyone hates the coach? They've had the same coach for a long time, so why didn't he have more people leave in the past?

Also, can someone please explain to me what it is that the coach does that pisses all the players off so much?

Or is the addition of Berque the new problem?

It is sad to see the team at this level now and to see the program without a home for now. I really enjoyed going to matches in Austin the past 2 years(well I miss Austin just in general but that's another story for another day) especially at their old home facility. I liked the team, with Soren, Lloyd etc. I was somewhat of an adopted Longhorn tennis fan the past 2 years. Now things are looking very bleak.

There's been some folks here who have railed on Center in the past when they hit some rough patches. When it got really bad some new posters suddenly appeared and came to his defense. There's a few Texas fans I'm waiting to hear from. Maybe they are giving the season a few matches to go first before venting. Should be entertaining.

I see Liam Caruna is signed up for the Aussie Open Jr. My guess is we see him back on a college roster somewhere other than Texas next Fall or Jan. 2017.

if Banzer does not play next weekend in Regional that really opens up that Region for Florida to take.

Texas has 0 chance at moving to the sweet 16 indoors.
