Not like Murray is much of a factor at the US Open regardless. But no Djoker/Stan hurts. If Shapovalov makes the final though, the joke bottom half will be more than worth it.

Shaps is good, but a GS final out of the blue is way too much, especially for a qualifier. Coric lacks the weapons, and getting to a GS final by sheer clutchness is unhead of.

Isner is too weak off the ground, so is Zverev; Schwarzman is too weak on serve. Carreno-Busta is just too weak despite looking dominant so far, but that against a bunch of qualifiers. Pouille out of form.

I say Querrey or Anderson will make it. Both of them have a respectable peak and have beaten Big 4 in the majors, so it wouldn't be such a terrible fluke at least.

That's not even an exaggeration. Might end up being the worst Slam I've ever seen in terms of quality of play.

Tough to evaulate quality of actual play. Aggregate rankings seem to be poor. So many big names were non starters. Now, more have lost early. Pretty remarkable. But that is why they play these.

I am happy with the matches i have seen, for the most part.
Federer vs Nadal semi will be awesome. Guessing delpo and thiem want in there, too!
Mischa, quisner, diego, denis.....would make quite a surprise finalist.
Reminds me of some oz opens from a decade or two ago.
