Look how the pros train in a hotel room

Check out repair bills are going to be huge for Tennis Australia...yikes...

Awesome tennis training footages though!

About 72 have been forced into confinment in their rooms fro 2 weeks, due to other passagers having been found infected on their flights (such as Bianca Andreescu's coach):

I espcially like Putintseva, reminds me of the doubles alley drill:

She can hit the same spot 100 times in a row, why doesn't she shoot that mouse in her room?

Wonder if the guests in the next room are going even crazier than her from the noise of her hitting balls at the walls?

No sh#%$#%!!!

I was thinking the same about my hitting as well.

oh well I'm not quitting my day job.
That's why in other threads we did remember the doubles alley drill; haven't done it myself in a couple of years, but it's great and I plan to try it again (FHs only, BHs only, or regular).

Glad I don’t have the room below hers

I saw a bunch of these on InstaG and that was my comment on most. Other guests around gotta be thinking they are at a frat house and not a hotel the way some of these pros are banging around in their rooms.

EDIT TO ADD: Not to take away from the concept of being able to practice tennis with what you have and how good they do in the limited space.

I agree it's impressive control, even the short ones that are bouncing straight up and down, she elevates over the bed with total control. She's getting a fair bit of elevation off whatever she's hitting into, it's really gripping.

I guess it could help a bit maintaining timing (it could also do more harm than good in this regard) and working on a quick fh/bh transition, but my initial reaction to what her and Bencic were doing is that it's a bit of a waste of time. At least Cuevas was hitting at match pace into the mattress.

I guess it is mostly killing some time and maybe feeling the bounce of the ball on the strings at contact. Obviously it is not great training but there is not much you can do in a hotel room. Maybe better than doing nothing at all

I'd be focusing more on physical training (like Marta Kostyuk was doing - I'd try to obtain an exercise bike as well) and possibly watching matches and brushing up on strategy. But yeah maybe they're killing time as you suggest.

Then, how do you sleep in that room??? No windows to open. If you turn it into a gym, I can imagine the smells...

It's a catch 22, an elite athlete needs exercise to sleep......The laundry needs to be done regularly.
I e seen them (Pella) complain that they have not changed their sheets the whole week. They do get new towels though. Where do you dry your exercise clothes?

I think that’s marginally better than the kid running around in circles the floor above you and the screaming baby.
