Looking at a solid black face pickleball paddle that has a lot of power but lower price.

The Electrum Pro, Crbn Pickleball Paddle of that style and look! I guess I am just shock by hypotonic colors and LSD, tie-dye patterns which are in the budget and immediate price paddles. The $150+ are only paddles that have the nice one color solid faces usually in matte black so far.

Has anyone know of a paddle that is release a black solid paddle in the $75-$100 price point?

o_OKind of given up the search! Just going to use the free picketball paddles that are given out to people who do not own one. To many problems with them for me now! For example, Wilson Carbon has only has the rough texture grip. I wanted smooth grip. No reviews on this paddle! All the ones I checked out, swung and are recommended by picketball players are “out of stock” and/or discontinued models!

YouTube reviews really are lots of misinformation in them too! LOL! Welcome to the world of Picketball paddle hype! Most of the new paddles are aimed at the elderly and most involving doubles playing too! Think expensive and cutting edge technology hype in these LSD design faces that cost $$$! What a trip, huh? :-D I guess all these picketball players now what to be individuals and need such extreme graphic picketball faces to standout from their other picketballers?

For me, it been a bummer trying to buy a picketball paddle! :X3:

Same paddle offered in 14 different colors!
Who really knows what's inside?
OTOH, almost any 50 dollar paddle works better than you or I.
Like bedsheets, just buy one and use it. You can change grip, weight it, lengthen, or shorten it.

Thanks, I will ponder your suggestion. No hurry on my part. Just learning about picketball paddles now. Reading up on the wood and then aluminum paddles now. I guess call composite are new, follow by polymers. LOL!

Get a ProLite Supernova, Titan Pro or Rebel. The original models had minimal color lines and a smooth carbon weave face. The lines would wear off or you could even remove with steel wool. Kind of was the point with that model - the more play it had, the more it would grip. Second generation had a goofy pickleball on them. Should be sub $100 and used to get factory blemish ones for sub $80.

When the honeycomb paddles came out in the 80s, I punked the field at my first singles tourney by riding my woodie and the edge of extra mass behind the ball to victory. If I played pickleball today, I’d probably buy a lightweight one, perimeter-weight it nice and heavy, and paint it black with rubberized flex seal.

Just purchased a Head Radical Tour GR in Yellow! It retails for $134.99 but had an awards points and use them to buy it! Was think about the Gravity to but decided that this met my needs for now!

Would that be legal, or would that make the surface spin the ball too much and not be allowed? Interesting idea tho.
I doubt the USAPA would notice or care! They seem to approve everything almost for tournament play. How many picketball players will actually enter USAPA $$$$ tournaments anyways?

Looks like I was wrong on the face graphics! It suppose to freedom of expression! I can compare it to downhill sking with bright jackets, boots and wild graphics on the ski tops.

BORING to the bone.
Better if they played competitive CC kitchen, rather than feeding easies.

One of the best players at the local park has a soft, deep serve and return, not much spin, and excellent play at the kitchen with killer put aways and touch. One day he was playing with a ping pong paddle and played the same winning way except his overheads were not the usual bullets.

Waiting for cardboard, eh? First experience w/tennis was in an auto dealership service bay. Two local club pros whipped out cut off brooms to rally on the ultra-smooth concrete floors.

Paddle cores are basically plastic cardboard, the same material used in yard signs except the flutes going the other way. Selkirk recently released a model that sells for $333 and is currently sold out.

Slightly longer, 1 cm narrower than std.
For me, more power on big swings, more misfits on dinks without spin, better for hard hitting, a few more misfits on average to slower shots...

There is a clear separation between the original square shape paddle vs. the elongate shape paddle. The square shape now is for the beginners and elongated paddle for the advanced/tour pickleball ball player.

I have both, use both.
Traditional is better for controlled soft shots, consistency, and less misfits.
Longer is better for power shots
I just watch what the so called pickleball pro use in their paddles on YouTube doubles matches. There are very few singles matches involving Pickleball and the ones I see are only using the tactic of the returner as the attacking person coming forward to the kitchen area and the server as the defender staying at the service line! I find this troublesome! o_O LOL!

That's because the server can't hit the return of serve on the fly, so has to stay back for a deep high return which allows his opponent time to take the kitchen line while he must hit his next shot after the bounce. Thus the third shot drop to give him time to move in as his opponent won't have a high enough percentage shot to attack right away. Both partners have to stay back on serve while one of the returning team members is already up on the line, so the serve is really no advantage like it is in tennis.

As far as paddle $$$ goes, Paddletek's Phoenix series is still a good value compared to the outrageous prices I've seen for other brands. Like it was mentioned, Head offers some decent paddles at reasonable prices as well.

So maybe one tactic can be a high, very spinny DEEP serve that bounces hard to one side...like the underhand, underside spin serve that jumps sideways on bounce.
Foot stance same as normal serve, toss almost directly out front, right to left diagonal swing, making a high arc slow deep serve that jumps hard sideways.
Couple that with low fast serves.

I already do this slice underhand, but will try it as more of a lob type slice serve week!

Consider...returner is looking to move forward during his return.
If you throw in a DEEP, high, slow serve that bounces hard sideways, his only choice is a half volley return from his baseline.
Once he figures that out, hit your normal fast low serve.
If he can handle speed, then slow sidebouncing short angled serves.

On return of serve tactic; I just hit it back high and deep and that gave me enough time to be at the border of the kitchen for me to volley the ball back for a winner. I will try the spin next time!

Who knew you would add weight to a racquet/paddle? :)
