Looking for a GOOD inexpensive stringing matching for both tennis and badminton

Hi, I recently started playing badminton with my gf and was wondering if anyone would share their experience stringing badminton racquets and the machines you use.
I’ve been using my old Gamma X2 for a long time, which suits my needs (about once a week). I don’t think the little X2 would do the job on a badminton racquet, and was wondering if I should upgrade to a better machine and what machine would you guys recommend.
Thanks in advance!

If you want to string badminton rackets on an X2 you just need to use the lighter weight and get some badminton clamps.

I can confirm you can string badminton racquets on an X2 machine, just be careful to secure the frame thouroughly and use the thinner racquet support adapters that come with the machine. If you wanted to level up and get a 6 point mounting stystem, I have a couple used models available at a discount.

I've strung badminton rackets before. I have a 6-point Alpha machine with a Wise tension head. For the badminton rackets, I took the Wise head off and used the crank. I could crank slower, and just felt I had more control over the string while it was tightening.

For Gamma drop weight machines, the 602fc progression II machine is a great option. The weight on the machine splits into a lighter weight so that you don’t have to buy a second weight to string badminton. This model has all the high end features like swivel clamps and 6 pt mount. It is also Wise head compatible .

I would recommend a 6 point mounting system to mount the racket and a pair of maybe Yonex or any brand of free floating clamps would do the trick. I personally use the Yonex ES5 Pro and Protech 8 to string on, and I do more badminton than tennis. Have fun stringing!
