It's hard to say that the racquet lacks control.
Many may regard a high stiffness/high powered racquet like the Pure Drive to not be a control racquet. I have seen a guy around who was state ranked and he gets plenty of control on it. I think it's more with technique and preference. You may want a different feel from your racquet. I like the feel on my nblade, yet a friend picked it up and said she couldn't feel anything. I can only suggest more practicing and more demoing.
try to demo a k6.1 95 (18x20) and a nblade 98. both offer decent power and quite a lot of control, the latter one being a little bit better on touch and control issues than the k6.1 95.
i can't say since the k-factors haven't landed yet in my part of the world. according to the marketing hype they should be much better on [k]ontrol , but the best way to find out is taking one out for a demo. than you would know how it works for YOU, and that's the ONLY important thing!
If you've never tried the NXG mp, I'd say it's worth a look. With a good tight stringbed, it's got a lot of control and can make almost any spin I can conceive of.
I also demoed a Fischer M Speed 98 last year and thought it did everything really well with a good dose of control.
