Looking for ideas to “seal” butt cap

I’ve customized the grip on my yonex sticks because I’m one of those people that can’t hit with the tiny flare from OEM.

I’ve basically built it up with vinyl tape wraps. Works well. But I have new sticks and engineering/tinkering is never done.

I was thinking about getting a heat shrink sleeve and just using it over the vinyl tape to “lock in” or “seal” the tape in place. Because of the angle, over time the vinyl tape slips towards the pallet.

Anyone have ideas on how to do above. Ideally I wouldn’t need to source another component and could figure something out with stuff around the house or found locally. But best I can come up with is heat shrink sleeves…. Though I swear they used to have half sizes and now I can only find full size ones.

All creative thoughts welcome.

Easiest option is to use an overgrip wrapped ala Gasquet.

2nd option is to apply a light coat of rubber cement over the plastic of the butt cap. Then apply your vinyl over that. If you can find something stickier than vinyl tape, I would use that since vinyl tape adhesive is designed to be easily removed without leaving residue.

Anyone done this before?

Using TinkerCAD it wouldn’t be difficult to remix the butt cap to allow it to fit many different pallets and you can make the butt cap as large as you want.

wouldnt it be easier to swap the buttcap from another manufacture, and then maybe able to put the YY trapdoor onto that swapped buttcap, if you fancy having the YY trapdoor on a YY frame.
Prince buttcap have some green edging, so it should match the green YY trapdoor... but donno if the Prince buttcap can fit onto the YY pallets though.. lol

Well to clarify // I’ve created the custom butt cap by building up the yonex one with tape.

So I don’t really want another butt cap.

Assuming the vinyl tape is similar to electrical tape (i.e. fairly sticky), then you should be able to build up the butt-cap area with 3 or 4 wraps, then continue the tape one inch onto the pallet with just one wrap, and it should stop any movement.
