Looking for Power POLY cross w/N Gut mains for PS95/PS97?

Can anyone recommend a poly that can provide GOOD POWER (and preferably arm friendly) that I can pair up with natural gut in a low powered racquet such as the Pro Staff 97?

I've read a lot of posts about arm friendly polys but most seem to have a muted feel. 16ga range please. Thanks.

Thx guys. Looks like TW doesn't offer the Mosquito Bite in a larger gauge and none of the Power Polyforce. I'll look elsewhere.

I just saw TW University Lab numbers on Solinco Tour Bite Soft. It has some respectable numbers.

Don't use Tour Bite Soft in the crosses, you will kill the gut mains with the shaped feature extremely quickly!!

A good option I can recommend is Tourna Black Zone, though it is slightly muted.

Another string that is comfortable and has good power, but a slightly more crisp feel is Kirschbaum Pro Line II. This string shines in the crosses.

One of the most powerful polys I know of is Polystar Energy. It is on par with a few multis in that regard, but it loses a lot of tension so be aware of that.

Like SpinToWin, I can speak to PLII in the crosses. It's superb, but I don't know if it's exactly what you're looking for.

Maybe proredcode or PP red devil? Both have pretty decent power in my experience.

Thx for the heads up on TBS and Polystar Energy. I played with Black Zone one time and hated the muted feel.

The Pro Line II sounds ideal since it'll add some crispness to a more dampened Pro Staff 97. Thx StW!

I just read some user reviews on the PLII and it looks to be exactly what I'm looking for. I think the feel of the NG and the crispness of the PLII will nicely add to the Pro Staff 97 dampened feel.

Thank you and SpinToWin for recommending this!

Yes, TB Soft 17g is both powerful and very arm friendly (for a poly), but it may "rub the wrong way" against the gut mains.

I've been using Gamma iO for about 4 months now and really like it. I use with as a cross with gut mains. It has great power and control and I get good feel with it. It has been extremely durable and plays well for a long time.

If you want a powerful poly with good feel then try Polystar Energy. Tension maintenance is not great in a full bed but this will be mitigated by the gut. 55/53 should be about right.

Thanks everyone for the recommendations. I'll try PLII first and move on to Cyber Blue and Energy if necessary. Looking forward to it!
