loose butt cap - babolat

Have a Babolat that has a butt cap that is loose after coming back from a major company that did some work on it.

I recall in the old days that they used to use a staple and perhaps a little double sided sticky tape to hold the cap in place.

However, since this has a molded foam handle and also has been shaved down a bit, I am leery of taking a stapler to the foam. I also fear that the double sticky tape will not work long term.

IS a dab or two of gorilla glue an option?

All expertise welcomed and thanked for in advance!

Superglue or Gorilla glue is not a good option if you ever need to replace the butt cap. A dab of silicone caulk on all 8 bevels works fine. Harden ~24hrs before wrapping the grip.

Recently bought a Bab PD 2015: staple in the buttcap, grip is put on with thin double-sided tape.

Bad new days?

If you went down a whole grip size then the company should have provided you with a new buttcap to fit. If you went down not a whole size, only a fraction, then they should use the existing cap but staple it, possibly in-fill with a little double-sided tape. Why not query with the repairer?

the cincy guys put about 5 staples in for free and now it is solid as a rock. (BTW - they also put on a new butt cap)

Gorilla Glue expands as it hardens. Not a good choice for a butt cap. Contact cement holds a cap in place but bonds weakly enough to allow removal if necessary.
