Looser cross/tighter cross for higher launch angle?

If you have strung your cross tighter, will it bite the ball and carry it into a higher launch angle?

or

If you have strung your cross looser, will the strings be on the ball for longer, carrying it into a higher launch angle?

How does elasticity of the cross string play into this? Please assume that the string used is tensioned at the optimal tension for the desired launch angle and stiffness. If you have the patience, it would be great if you were to comment on poly and nylon-based cross strings.

Higher cross tension absolutely lowers launch. Elasticity increases launch but also allows for higher tension so see rule 1.

Poly generally has a higher launch than nylon, but you've got a n7mber of variables working at one time so hard to make conclusive statements.

Thanks 2nd Serve Ace. My thinking is that since a poly cross has a lower tension than a nylon cross, that might account a lot for the higher launch. Like you said, there's multiple things happening.
