Lost even more respect for Novak today…

End of first set when he wins it…You would think he just came from having spent 12 months at war deep in enemy territory…The play acting/look at me/I am the ultimate fighter reached an embarrassing level at the end of that set….Don’t have a clip but it is the bit where he rolls over, takes a deep painful look at the court, etc…Yes Novak - you are indeed like a war hero :)

It's only a hamstring injury. You're reading too much into this.

He has always been one to act a little dramatic, not a knock or a praise or saying he's faking but he likes to act like he's in a play sometimes. The "pointing to God" when luck is finally in his favour after a long point drought is what I find a little cringey. But that's just who he is and it's just harmless theatrics.

why would Novak fake injury to some low ranked player or dimitrov? Did you see him do it at French open 2022 defeat? Did you see him do it when he lost to Medvedev 6-4 6-4 6-4 at usopen finals or to other opponents whenever he lost a set.

he seems hampered and is playing through and that is bothering nadal fans who always bring up injury card outside of clay . Heck even during rg2021 loss, it was played with photo evidence

I replied about this in a different thread.

he knows his draw is weak AF and he knows he’s going to win the title. The injury excuse is the only way he can make it look like he had to defy insurmountable odds to win it

Who gives a **** about “insurmountable odds”? All that matters is winning. What insurmountable odds did Fed face in his recent slams? Or Nadal at USO17 and 19? To make just a few

Good summary - got a bit much today I felt - fairly cringey. I’d say he kind of does feel like he is similar to maybe a Bruce Willis in Armageddon, a Will Smith in Independence Day, etc. Both are better actors than Nole but he’s not lacking for effort in terms of acting.

Son, Tell this that to this guy who couldn't play even 30 minutes in most important match of his and our club's history and was our most important attacking threat ( CL final 2014) and he had weeks to heal his hamstring and on another hand there's a player who is playing many matches on trotts without giving a single week of rest to heal his hamstring. Yeah ,it's just a hamstring, clown.

How can you say that when Joker gave a performance for the ages at the 2021 Australian Open, in which the Serb showed that he is the best actor of his generation.
Its sequel in 2023 is still in the works but the refinement of the theatrical style has reached heights not seen for a long time.
:D

Immediately thought about the pointing to God thing. Have we forgotten the shirt ripping, grass eating, temple pointing, roaring, arms outstretching like 'look at me'? It's Novak and he is dramatic like that. Is it giving cringe? For me, yes. But I don't think it makes him a bad person or someone who doesn't deserve respect.

Nonsense.

Indeed.

Your point will be ignored by those of the butthurt class.

The only people who even talk about weak draws are Internet trolls. Do you really think Djokovic gives a damn about that?

Federer and Roddick pegged djokovic right from the very beginning with his "injuries".. he hasn't changed. the only reason nobody says anything about it anymore is becuz hes won so much, if they do it seems like sour grapes

Except for Federer and Roddick were mocking Djokovic for retiring from matches citing health problems. Now there are people who mock Djokovic for not retiring form a match if he's citing a health problem. You can never please everyone. lol

This is my take. He’s a ham and very emotionally demonstrative on court. Doesn’t mean he isn’t injured.

Costa clearly hated your club because he flew over to Chelsea a few weeks later, pal.

The match of Daniil Medvedev's career. This one, with Cincinatti 2019 semi final, were two matches Daniil played like a tennis God.

When it's all said and done about him, those two matches, particularly the one from this photography, will be his greatest win and he will be remembered for that.

I still can’t believe I occupy a reality where a large subset of Nadal fans are accusing Djokovic of faking injuries. It is actually surreal.

(And that’s not because I view Nadal as an injury-faker, as I don’t.)

It's not an accusation, it's a statement of fact. Accusation implies some degree of uncertainty.
