Are they gonna change strategy and try to hit the corners in attempt to make him run and just end up making more unforced errors because they are mugs?
He can also use injury as an excuse for the loss, I guess, so maybe that is why he wants everyone to know about the injury.

In any case, I do not see why Nadal fans are bothered if he is injured enough or injured a little or not injured at all...

why would Novak fake injury to some low ranked player or dimitrov? Did you see him do it at French open 2022 defeat? Did you see him do it when he lost to Medvedev 6-4 6-4 6-4 at usopen finals or to other opponents whenever he lost a set.
