Maybe I’ll just order the Raptor Hyperpulse in size 12 to match my Barricade size per your experience and in size 11.5 to match my SCB size per The Big Kahuna’s experience. One of them will hopefully be the perfect fit for me, and then I’ll return the one that doesn’t fit.Lotto sz 11 fits me perfect (just like the Barricades or Asics Solution Speed FF2, and most of other shoes).
SCB fit me in size 10.5
The only diff between clay/hard court versions is the thickness of the sole. And that’s .5mm extra for clay. On the flip side, they will last longer on hard courts.Yeah I want to see the saffron colorway but NOT clay specific...
Uh, no it isn't?The only diff between clay/hard court versions is the thickness of the sole
I have both and correct, the clay sole is 0.5mm “deeper” however, the HC thread is “thicker” and I expect them to last longer. The Clay is deeper (by 0.5mm) to grab better on clay. The only diff between clay/hard court versions is the thickness of the sole. And that’s .5mm extra for clay. please see here. Used ones are Clay (approximately 10 hours of moderate to heavy hitting ALL on HC!)
They are very quiet now that you mentionDoes the clay sole on a hard court give off any kind of squeak and or a good slide-to-stop ratio? I ask because I had the hard court versions of these awhile back and perhaps I'm strange but it bothered me the soles were absolutely silent - realized I like that little bit of feedback in sound, as well as a little more slickness to make hard stops a little less abrupt. Was always curious if the clay sole would fare any different on a HC.
You would think a shoe named after a dinosaur would be loud. Like should be called the ninja 100 hyperpulseThey are very quiet now that you mention
My Lotto Raptors arrived today. The size 11.5 US is too narrow and too short for me. If I decide to keep these shoes, I’ll go with the size 12 US. So for me, the Lotto Raptor sizing matched my Adidas Barricade sizing. With the wider Adidas Sole Court Boost, I can drop down a half a size to 11.5 US for the perfect width and length.Maybe I’ll just order the Raptor Hyperpulse in size 12 to match my Barricade size per your experience and in size 11.5 to match my SCB size per The Big Kahuna’s experience. The super thick plush Ortholite insole included with the Raptor is silly comfortable. I usually wear blue Superfeet in all my tennis and running shoes. But with these thick Ortholite insoles, I’ll be tempted to play in the stock insoles.
I have never tried the Lotto Mirage shoes so I can't make a direct comparison there for you. I don't find the Lotto Raptors as wide as the Adidas Solecourt Boost. But the Raptors do have a decent toe box with enough room that my toes aren't hitting the edges of the shoe. I'd say that the Raptor size 12 closely matches the Nike Vapor 9 size 12 sizing. I definitely try to avoid narrow tennis shoes that rub my toes. When I first started playing tennis regularly in the late 1990's, I started off with the Prince NFS (Natural Foot Shape) shoes which were actually shaped like my foot (not pointed at the toes). Then I went to the Adidas Barricade 2 in size 12 for many years. Then the Barricade 6, 8, 2015, and 2016 all in size 12. And the Nike Vapor 9 in size 12. Then the Adidas Ubersonic 2 in size 12.5 which was a more narrow shoe so I needed the extra half-size to help with the width. Then the Adidas Solecourt Boost in size 11.5. In dress shoes and casual brown shoes, I normally wear 11.5. In Adidas Ultraboost running shoes, I wear 12.5. In Brooks Transcend 5 running shoes I wear 12.5. And for me, the Lotto Raptors work in size 12. I wore Nike Elite Basketball Crew socks when I tried out the Raptors on Saturday for tennis and today for padel. I wore them on a 5 mile walk on Sunday to try and break them in more and take some grab out of the clay court treads. On Saturday for tennis, I used the stock Ortholite insoles, but they were too springy and didn't provide the support I needed. So today for padel, I took out the stock insoles and used blue Superfeet insoles. The Superfeet insoles made even more room in the shoe because they are thinner than the stock Ortholite insoles.
The Raptor clay court outsoles are very sticky and grabbed the clay not in a good way (indoor red clay, fairly moist) and the padel artificial turf. I think these outsoles would be great for providing traction on a dry slippery clay court, but otherwise right now that are gripping too much for me!
I can tell you it is marking the HCDoes the clay shoe have a non-marking sole? I have unfortunately read the opposite somewhere here.
Bummer. My club will not let you have shoes that mark up the indoor courts.I can tell you it is marking the HC
Oh man I hope this isn't Clay only.... owowowowFound on the internet, possibly a new colourway:

This was too big right?choosed the 47 size in this one.
are both the SoleCourt and raptors the same lengthwise when in the same US size? It sounds like you are saying the raptors run a bit long but the solecourts run even longer In the same us size?Lotto's EU sizing here is strange and large. Whereas an EU44 is a US10 in most shoes, in Lottos the 43 = 10, 43.5 = 10.5, and so on. So US sizing is accurate but EU sizing is large. I had to size down from my usual 44 (10) to 43 (9.5) in the Solecourt (there is no 43.5 in Adidas), while in these Lottos a 43 or 43.5 (for width help) is fine, but length wise my ideal would be a 43. Long story short: you may find these long.
However the shoe hugs the foot well so you can get away with a little more room.

So the fabric on the upper is SOFT but DOESN'T STRETCH right?
About to blind order internationally these (so I can't return). I worn 12 in AG-LT21, Cage 4, FF1, Vapor NXT, Vapor X knit, Blushield Fly 3, Ultrashot 2, and Eclipsion 2. 11.5 in the GR8 2E, MC1296v2 2E, and SFX3.
It seems to me that the stretchiness of the material determines the size I wear. Most people don't wear the same sizes for the Cage 4 and the Vapor X Knit but I did: the hard outer of the Cage 4 held my feet in place, while the Vapor X knit was stretchier so even though it ran narrow I didn't have to size up. BluShield 5 was a too big in 12. And lastly the MC1296v2 2E and SFX3 had uppers that stretched so i went down half.
If I altered size it would be downwards to 11.5 not upwards to 12.5 though. But if you say the material is thin but not stretchy, I will be more inclined to stay in 12. If it is anything like the Blushield 5 though, it would be too big in 12. Regardless though, much thanks for the input. I will remember you when I win the U.S. Open with these!Glad i did because I was about to order a size 11 because of my experience with the Mirages.
Hahahaha ok, I said “is not a thin material” … its pretty dense actually. Taking everything you said before i would go for a 12. BS5 are wider and bigger, more like the Solecourt, Raptors are more hugging and snug fit.If I altered size it would be downwards to 11.5 not upwards to 12.5 though. Sounds like my luck.Anddd it's now available for pre-purchase right after I already ordered from Europe... **sigh**
Tennis player proWho tennis player is using the Lotto Raptor Hyperpulse ?
Thanks
Asics user for the past 5 years. I wear an 11 in Resolutions and an 11.5 in the Speed, mainly due to the narrow fit. What would you suggest in the Raptor?
Tennis player pro
Long time gel resolution user as well. All of my resolutions have been 8.5. I originally ordered the raptors in that size but have to return them to get a 9. So I would recommend a half size up for sure. All feet are different but I can recommend that with confidence.
Good call.
I ordered half size up and they fit well. Toe area is a little snug but that’s probably because the insole is so thick.
How long was the breaking for you?
Compared to what?Toe area is a little snug
Compared to what?
of the same size?Resolutions. After playing for three hours it broke in and loosened up. All is well.
of the same size?
Resolutions in standard width? Or the wide versions?
For me the raptors toebox is wider than the R8 in standard width of the same size (fresh out of the box)To me, the toebox felt larger in the Resolutions. Standard. I wear an 11 in Resolutions, 11.5 in Speeds because of the narrow fit. I have an 11.5 in Lotto. Feel great. Toebox was snug at first, broke in after a few hours. It could be because of the thick insole which is awesome btw.
