Lotto Raptors VS. Yonex 308?

hi.
I consider trying one of those as my next pair.
used Barricades (too bulky), and GR4 (good overall).

anyone tried the Raptors & 308 to tell any major differences?

i have quite narrow feet, average arch.
however i do need to feel very secure with fast movements, and to also have good heel support.

i am quite pleased with the GR4's, except for rather poor sole durability, and the feel that they lose their overall support and get all mushy after 3 months.

thanks.

Had a pair of previous Raptors but much prefer Barricades. Feet feel more "locked in" and stable. I would also say the Raptors were wider in the toe box and made my feet look huge. Have a pair of 308's on back order but notice TW wont have them in stock until the 17th.

Both are really nice shoes. If you want an emphasis on comfort and shock absorption take the SHT, but ventilation isn't their forté by far. But if you really have a really narrow (or/and long) feet and want all around performance with better durability than GR, try the Raptors. Can't really go wrong there with either shoe.

Liam1 says that the Raptors are wide in the toe box and Lukhas says that they are good for narrow feet.

So which is it?

Maybe Liam talks about earlier Raptors?

So, in terms of shock absorption the 308 are superior?
But they are for wider feet?
I wear 2 pairs if socks btw.

My heels feel like they "need" more shock obsorption.
More than I get with the GR4's.

Havent tried raptors,,yet own yonex 308 and 254D,,Yonex is the most comfortable tennis shoe I have worn and they are light on the feet,,very stable as well. 308 has a narrower toe box than 254D

Narrow, but I'll try to justify. Usually for most shoes, US11=EU45. Raptors? US11.5=EU45. They don't even tell you to get half a size larger; they already change the numbers to accommodate the US market. Most Europeans who have more of an habit to wear Italian shoes, so it didn't matter as much in Europe. The reverse would be the Propulses (and most Bab' shoes) that fit short, but really wide.

Yes mine are an earlier version but just tried them on again in the name of research along with my Barricade 7's and the Barricades are definitely a snugger fit.

I agree on that. I find that Adidas in general fits a bit short; if compared to the Raptors the Italian shoes fit longer. However the B8s, while fitting as short as the 7's, are also much wider.

thanks for your replies.
so just to make sure-
the heel support and shock absorption is a bit better on the 308's?

Thanks for that, I'll give the B8's a miss then.Looking forward to getting the 308's.

Can't say much about heel support since I sent the shoes back because I found the ventilation lacking; but shock absorption is better than most, if not all shoes on the market.

I'm on my second pair of both the 308's and the Raptors. My thoughts:

1. I have wide feet with a low arch and both fit my feet very well.
2. Durability: The Raptors are significantly more durable.
3. Both shoes feel quick on the court. The Raptors feel much quicker than their weight might suggest.
4. I feel a little more confident making aggressive moves in the Raptors but the 308's are still very good in this department. I've only ever rolled my ankle once in the 308's and never in the Raptors.
5. Comfort: Tie game here. Both shoes are more comfortable than other shoes I've worn like the B7, ProPulse series, and Prince T22.
6. Heel Support/Shock Absorption: Both are very good, I couldn't say one was better than the other. If I HAD to choose, based on anecdotal memory of foot fatigue level, I'd give a slight edge to the Raptor.

Conclusion: I'd go with the Raptors, all other things being equal. The 308's are a great shoe, though, and probably the best looking shoes I've ever owned FWIW.
