So I used to buy the cheap shoes ... but life's not long enough to save money on gear, so I ventured out to the "nicer" variety.

Bught the Acics Gel 3s ... but the fit wasn't right, the laces kept getting undone, no love there ...

Got the Zoom Vapors, it was love at first wear ... BEST shoes I've worn, tight fit, great laces, felt connected to the court, full stability .... BUT ... I went through 2 pairs in the span of 4 months ... (I play both on clay and hard court so I use to diff pairs) both started to tear on top, and on the hard-court version, the sole wore out pretty quickly . . .

Bot the 2015 Barricades, the fit is nice, laces great. THEY LAST!!!
But I feel the sole is too soft - I don't feel as confident in those as I do in the vapors.

What shoe has the Barricades Longevity and the Vapor Feel?

is there one?

I must be the weirdest shoe wearer-- I managed to get the warranty on some Barricades rather quickly (2.5 months), usually do OK with ballistecs but wear the sole down enough that it's not really gripping as I would like/unsafe. The vapors have lasted me the best, for whatever reason. Usually I can get about 3 months out of a pair, but that's playing every day for about an hour and a half minimum. I've always worn them down on the ball of my foot first, although with this pair I've had a bit of peeling of the side panels on the outside of the forefoot from the shoe-- nothing major but it looks a little funky.
