I'm surprised nobody mentioned sciatica, yet. I had lower back, hip pain from driving, just on one side. Stretched my piriformis by laying on my back and pulling my knee to chest, then across my body. Went away after a few weeks, and I haven't had the issue again. I think my piriformis was tight and pinching my sciatic nerve. Pigeon pose does the same stretch.

Because true piriformis syndrome is extremely rare and most of what you're describing is somatic referred pain which typically responds to flexion movements

True nerve related pain is shooting and well localized and not what OP described

Sciatica is a symptomatic condition derived from numerous different issues.

In the last two months or so, my lower back and hips have been getting real tight after tennis. I did a massage recently and while it was temporarily better, it came right back after I played again. I have been trying stretches but it's tough to get relief. For those who have experience this, is there some thing that worked best for you? Thanks.
This happens to me too, even during late 2nd and 3rd set too if match goes long and i can only serve 1/2 speed after this happens. Is there any ATP tour trainer that knows how to prevent this from happening ?? They seem to work magic on these tour players.

Why not a WTA tour trainer?
