Luis Horna doesn't like the style of Djokovic.

He prefers a thousand times watch Federer's or Nadal's matches.

Edit:

Translation:
-I'm a number one fan of Federer and number one fan of Nadal. Since I have use of reason they are the two players I most liked in tennis. I think the fact that they are so different makes it so exciting and I think they are the two players who have given more to this sport and have put it on the level it is right now; obviously with the help of all the preceding players, of all previous generations but they are two outstanding players on the court and are two personalities out of it ...

About Djokovic game:

-I don´t like. I like other type of player. I enjoyed more watching Nalbandian, I enjoyed more watching Coria, I enjoy much watching Federer...There is no chemistry, no? I played against him when he was young; he gave me a memorable beating in Roland Garros... but no...there is something that no...(journalist interferes: There is no that connection)

-No, there is not. I prefer a thousand times watch Federer, a thousand times watch Nadal than watch Nole.

I am sure he prefers the legend he beat in straight sets in the 1st round of a slam in the same year that guy won Wimbledon, YEC and ended the year at #2. I would too.

Some guys prefer to bathe in their own faeces as a way of reaching climax, doesn't give the practise/opinion any value, definitely not enough to make a thread about.

Perfectly valid opinion. He is talking about 'Style' , so let us not forget that.

Even Novak's parents will feel the same way.

Does not make Novak any less a player though.

I can only hope Federer/Nadal fans don't use this as yet more evidence that Djokovic isn't very popular because really, who the hell cares for this man's opinion! :)

It's pretty obvious that Djoker fans care, or they wouldn't have replied in the first place. Let's face it, when it comes to comparing Fed/Nadal popularity vs Djoker, it isn't even close. Djoker loses big time on this one.

He better preach that gospel.

Horna was champion in Acapulco and chapion in Viña del Mar, beating the Olympic Champion Nicolás Massú in the final. Also he helped the Peruvian tem of Davis cup to qualify to the World Group for the first time by beating Belarus in Lima 4-1; he won a memorable match against Max Mirnyi.

I'm a number one fan of Federer and number one fan of Nadal.

Didn't Horna win the French Open Doubles with Cuevas in 2008?

Sorry Horna had to google you: Luis Horna Biscari (born 14 September 1980 in Lima) is a former tour professional tennis player from Peru, who turned professional in 1998. Known by his nickname "Lucho", he won his 2 career singles titles, reached the quarterfinals of the 2004 Madrid Masters and achieved a career-high singles ranking of World No. 33 in August 2004.

Not only he was nothing, but he was nothing in one of weakest eras. Do keep making threads about opinions from such kind of players, it will make some of you feel that you are on the right side. :D

his opinion is shared by an overwhelming majority of people..so it is pretty pedestrian

Just curious. How you measure "overwhelming majority of people"? Where? Around you? In Spain, Switzerland, USA, and Britain?
What about Russia, China, Japan,Thailand, India, eastern Europe, Italy, Greece, etc.? Did you made any scientific research?
Never mind Tennis and Djokovic, other players too - learn to be Man of honor not sissy, only because you don't like somebody!

Gotta agree with the guy. I actually like Novak, in a way, but what the bloke said in the video is true.
Would rather watch Roger or JuicedRafa any day of the week. Awesome tennis. And it helped lift tennis IMO.

Novak is, well, just like a character in a movie that has been badly scripted, and you just don't care about them one way or the other in the scheme of the story. Which is unfair on him given his awesome athleticism. But it is what it is.

Interesting how his style wasn't an issue until a year ago.

Hi Coloskier bhai ... not one Federer or Nadal fan has been able to explain how Djokovic consistently features on the list of highest paid sportsmen through endorsements. Unpopular players just don't draw those kind of endorsement deals, so until a Federer/Nadal fan can explain it, it's just a myth that Djokovic isn't popular!

It's pretty obvious that Djoker fans care, or they wouldn't have replied in the first place. Let's face it, when it comes to comparing Fed/Nadal popularity vs Djoker, it isn't even close. Djoker loses big time on this one.

No wonder he was such a mediocre tennis player with such flaw in his judgement/taste ;)
For being such a mediocre player, he still managed to win 2 titles and nearly 3 million dollars in prize money over his career. Don't forget a peak rank of 33rd in the world - that puts the millions of people who try and compete at the elite level to shame.

The correct definition would be a 'journeyman' but even then he could play very good tennis at times:

you doubt the hierarchy of admiration in the tennis world...[that would include all countries on earth] probably a close second in his home country

It's not about me and my doubts. Just ask how you measure it??? How you know?? How many countries have you been to?
"Close second in his home county" - this is what I am talking about! Just be a man of honor not sissy. This is friendly advice and could mean a lot to you.

In this interview he mentions that match against Chela in the Acapulco final as one of the best matches in his career.

Please tell us how you admired Horna's tennis and how you didn't need to google him.

LOL. Did i say I admire him ?

The fact that you didn't know someone who beat Fed in year 2003 in straight sets and someone who was ranked 30's in the world show how much tennis you guys know.

I would be concerned for my mental health if:
  • I would rate someones knowledge about tennis by knowing player who's best result was No. 33 from 2004
  • my lack of knowledge about such important information would make me blush
  • I would tell you that your lack of knowledge about Colin Dibley who has beaten Connors in straights at UO, is good indicator about your tennis knowledge

This rivality between Horna and the serbian Novak Djokovic...started in this ceremony? Or it was just in 2015? I see some journalists are concerned about this issue...
