Lukas Rosol retires.

I don't mean flailing in desperation a la roddick. I mean playing a style of tennis that doesn't allow your opponent to take the initiative.
that was never his style and Rosol didn't give him much space (with big serving and huge power off the ground) to impose his own game. the break helped Rosol to regroup though, Rafa started to wear him down and got the momentum in the fourth. Rosol would have probably lost if it wasn't for the roof break.

In the 5th set Nadal played just few points bad and got broken, he didn't have much chance on Rosol's serve .imo he should have closed the match in 4 sets but sht happens , let's give Rosol credit for playing mind-blowing tennis in the 5th.

I remember how he was prowling around like a caged tiger in that fifth set, literally no fear and regard for the guy who had played the Wimbledon final the last five times he was there, and who had just won RG and made the last five slam finals.

Rosol executed him with ice cold blood in his veins, three massive aces and a huge forehand winner. The manner in which he did it, is why Wimbledon made that official video about him.

It wasn't just his service game but he returned quite well and Nadal was also serving big that day ( hit 20+ aces if i remember correctly) Rosol took chances on Nadal's serve and it it paid him

One of the greatest denadalizations of all time. He was completely unplayable in the 5th set and made Nadal look completely helpless on court. He saved tennis and made Nadal quit the 2012 season.

He paved the path for Darcis, Kyrgios, Brown and Muller to continue the early round denadalizations at Wimbledon. Thank you Rosol for your contributions to tennis.

This match was truly lightning in a bottle for Rosol. That massive upset over Nadal was Rosol’s only win against a top-40 player on grass(1-7 career vs top-40 on grass). His next match after that win, he got dismantled in straight sets by #30 Kohlschreiber.

It was Hoffa's disease in Rafa's left knee that kept him out of the tour for about seven months after the 2012 Wimbledon, it was not Rosol.

Being happy about Rafa’s injuries shows how disgusting his bashers are.

The defeat of Nadal - although well before the final - was kind of Rosol's "Buster Douglas" moment. (not a perfect analogy)

During Rafa's Wimbledon slump, I thought that only two of his performances (versus Darcis and Brown) were bad. Rosol, Kyrgios and Muller - although none were in Rafa's league overall - all played great on those days. It happens...

Rosol red lined throughout that match, lightening in a bottle, he did briefly break into the top 30 but he pulled a victory he could tell his children/grandchildren about. "I beat of the best players ever at a Grand Slam".

This type of match is why Federer's 65 match winning streak on grass is so impressive. Upsets happen more often on this type of surface than on other surfaces. Of course, the great Nadal is the one that snapped Fed's 65 match winning streak on grass. he also snapped Fed's 56 match winning streak on hard courts as well. Man, if I didn't like Nadal so much, I'd say that he was a major pain in the arse for us Fed fans.
