Luxilon ALU Power vs Topspin Cyberflash

I've read a lot of posts comparing these two strings. Most people tend to seem to insinuate that Cyberflash is better than ALU Power, but is that only because they are taking price into comparison?

I've personally never tried ALU Power, but I've heard enough people rave about the string to believe it's definitely a great string. I've been using Cyberflash for a while now and think it's a pretty good string. I like the power and spin it generates. I was wondering how ALU compares when not taking price into consideration. I plan on hybriding with Gosen OG Micro, so I'm willing to take the hit on price.

How do they compare on power, spin, control, feel, etc?

Any other strings worth considering? I think the two biggest characteristics I'm insterested in are power and feel.

Thanks.

i prefer cyber flash over alu power...i think it has better spin potential and better feel...translation, i feel like i know where the ball is going, better with cybler flash, than i do with alu power...

well to sum things up, ive never tried a string that competes with luxilons alu line. but in the end, strings are just strings. if you got the money, go for it. whenever i feel like im a little rich i'll get lux aand if im feelin poor, i'll order some 10- strings.

I havent used cyberflash but nothing I have used compares to Alu power, more so in control than anything else and a certain dead feel and sound that I like.

Ive used strings that have more power, more spin etc but never with the same balance that Alu has. You also need to be of a good standard to get the full benefit from it. I wouldnt recommend this to anyone other than players with full swings/good technique etc.

I think there is a reason why it is used a lot on the tour, there is a window when this string is alive and the control is amazing, you can really hit out with it and know where it is going. The second window where its gone off a bit it still plays pretty well (8-14hrs), after that it hurts the arm and there's not much of anything. These are at my tension of 45lbs which has has relatively less tension drop than when its strung higher.

If you can afford it give it a go, personally I think its reasonably priced compared to many multis/gut etc at £10 a pop.

You can't compare the two. Besides saving a few (maybe more than a few) dollars on the string cost, ALU better all around.

Cyberflash in a hybrid is incredible. I am still looking for something to beat it, and I am going to try out some big ace micro to compare.

The lux comes out of the bag hitting super crispy and nice, and gives you 4-6 hours of that. The CF takes a little break in time, but delivers for a long time after that.

I don't hit full poly anymore, but I think the way to do it is this:

If you restring often and have no problem shelling out the cash, then the Lux is the way to go. You should restring every 6 hours of play.

If you would rather not do that and would like to save money, then the CF is the best option. It can last you 10-14 hours.

yep -- this sums it up well...i like how many hours i can get out of cyber flash...i think it's one of the "best bangs for you buck" type deal...only string i've really liked enough to go through multiple reels...
