in addition, luxilon, is a string that should be strung at least 5 lbs under your usual string tension, for it is stiffer than other polys.
This doesn't just go for ALU, it goes for all Poly's. Since when is Luxilon so much stiffer than other poly's?
And it is 10% not 5 lbs. For most people this ends up being a drop of 6 lbs or slightly more. I think there are performance benefits going to the lower tension anyway.
People seem to think just because a string feels more comfortable it is not as stiff. Sometimes our feelings are misleading because Luxilon is far from the stiffest.
Of every poly I have ever used, ALU power does seem to be the most powerful. I feel like it is in a different class of strings than what it is usually compared with. I think most other poly's talked about around here are a much better match-up for Luxilon Original, not ALU.
I think the issue of Luxilon stiffness really comes into play after you've got a lot of time on it. After a few weeks, when it totally dies, I think that is when it is most dangerous. That is when the arm/eblow problems really show themselves. The only poly that I've tried that didn't seem to totally die was SPPP.
I think if you're experiencing arm pain with it, you should forget about. It really isn't worth it. A lot of the Luxilon craze is hype and marketing, is it really worth it to you? Did it improve your game? Don't underestimate the performance of synthetic guts and multi's.
