I proved luxilon big banger alu power and I feeld arm pain so Iwas thinging about getting an hybrid with alu power like mains but I'd like a multifilaments like crosses.Who here have an hybrid with luxilon alu power? And what's the other string?

if you have arm problems...you shouldnt be using poly at all

It depends. Unless it's an important pain, I think he could try some hybrids, before deciding. Having said that, I'd suggest you to try a hybrid with one of the softer solid core syn guts (LaserFibre Classic, f.e.), before thinking about multis.

Inever had arm problems before luxilons....

well..it's apparent that the polyester/copoly strings are the reason for your arm pain...hybrids might work for you...but i doubt it unless you put some soft multis like x1 biphase or nrg2 in the crosses

Have you used poly's before? Luxilon isn't the stiffest feeling poly. Just try to hybrid it with a very soft set of crosses.

well, luxilon, along with other polyesters, shouldn't be used by persons with arm problems.

in addition, luxilon, is a string that should be strung at least 5 lbs under your usual string tension, for it is stiffer than other polys.

if you really want to play with luxilon, you should combine it with a softer string such as gut.
use the polys, as your main since, it's usually the mains that break first.
and use gut, as your cross, for a better feel.

This doesn't just go for ALU, it goes for all Poly's. Since when is Luxilon so much stiffer than other poly's?

And it is 10% not 5 lbs. For most people this ends up being a drop of 6 lbs or slightly more. I think there are performance benefits going to the lower tension anyway.

People seem to think just because a string feels more comfortable it is not as stiff. Sometimes our feelings are misleading because Luxilon is far from the stiffest.

Of every poly I have ever used, ALU power does seem to be the most powerful. I feel like it is in a different class of strings than what it is usually compared with. I think most other poly's talked about around here are a much better match-up for Luxilon Original, not ALU.

I think the issue of Luxilon stiffness really comes into play after you've got a lot of time on it. After a few weeks, when it totally dies, I think that is when it is most dangerous. That is when the arm/eblow problems really show themselves. The only poly that I've tried that didn't seem to totally die was SPPP.

I think if you're experiencing arm pain with it, you should forget about. It really isn't worth it. A lot of the Luxilon craze is hype and marketing, is it really worth it to you? Did it improve your game? Don't underestimate the performance of synthetic guts and multi's.

Were it me, I'd use a soft multi and string savers. It is some extra work for you, but in the long run, you'll be better off. If you insist on staying with a poly for durability, reduce tension. Most club players play with their frames strung too tight.

Good luck.
