Luxilon Big Banger ALU Power

What this like for tension hold? The guy i hit with bought a 200m reel and said he'll let me string with it wen i next need a restring, it won't be free so i'm just wondering am i just going to get annoyed with it after a few hours of play and have to cut it out?

My experience with Luxilon (Big Banger Original [normal and Rough]) is that it loses tension after a few hours, but I personally like it more as it gets softer. However, Luxilon really doesn't break- it just goes dead.

String it tight and it will feel stiff then loosen up. String it lower and it'll play well for a while, then turn into a trampoline. There are many better polys for holding tension and at a lower price. SPPP is one I can think of.

haha...I do love ALU!

The key to ALU playing better for longer IMO is to string it up 2 days before play a few lbs heavy...it will then settle in over the 48 hrs and wont drop as much tension during play.

Its a great string...for the first 2 hours there is nothing better (well natural gut)...with Luxilon you either like them and cant use anything else or hate the stuff.

For the first 3-4 hours the spin, control, feel and power is just immense!
