Luxilon Big Banger

I'm really liking playing with the original Big Banger from Luxilon. I'm considering springing for the new Luxilon string for my next reel. I know it's more that $100 bucks more. Is it worth it? Also how much looser do you string when using this string? I've posted my reel here:

If you're going to shell out the bucks for a new lux string. I wouldn't do it for m2. I'd wait for the Avenger to come out. It hits very similar to ALU but the playing properties last a lot longer. The price should be similar and I believe it's out in the spring.

I hit with it a few weeks back and it's really nice and very "lux like". The M2 IMO plays more like a syn gut. You may love it but I did not think it was worth the price. I would move the tension up 2 or 3 lbs over BBO.

Is it worth it? I have to say no. Other companies make a string just like it that has a better durability. Try Genesis Spin X. Great string that is easily comparable to Luxilon and good price.

I will say that for me, BBO is still a decent cost/performance layout. It holds tension better for me than ALU (much better) and you can usually get it for $10 a pack or so. BBO is still hard to beat if you like a stiff old skool poly feel and I think it works best in an open pattern softer stick.

I had alu in my stick this week and it does just all go to hell after 2 hours or so. I remember now why I stopped using it :)

I think I might give this a shot. What gauge do you use? I used to always use 16 gauge but with with my new stick YouTek MP I've got a tighter string pattern and it's lasting a long time. I might go down to 17 gauge.

Here's the stick

With the 18/20 of the MP you'll be fine with the 17g and you'll get a bit better feel and touch.
