some of the lower ranked players are sponsored by Luxilon and use the stencil on their strings

obviously, Luxilon doesn't really need a stencil since almost everyone knows what they are, and refer to all poly's as "Lux" or "Luxilon". it's like Kleenex, everyone calls it by the brand name, so i doubt they'll have to worry about sponsoring players.

I don't think Luxilon sponsors any more, if you want Lux you have to pay. I'm not sure how old the picture is in previous post.

I've also heard that Luxilon doesn't sponsor anyone, pros included. Even they have to pay for their strings. That's the best advertisment possible. And maybe that's exactly why their strings are so expensive.

Let me preface this statement with, "I could be wrong"...

I know Lux doesn't pay pro's to use their string, but I think they give some of the top pros free string.

Take care.

most of the top pro's get their stuff by P1, and i'm pretty sure P1 isn't sponsored, but do get strings for a lot cheaper because they buy in major bulkss

About a month or two ago luxilon had a press release where they said the Bryan brothers signed with luxilon and solely use bb alu rough from now on.

So that gives me the impression they do sponsor players.:)

To reiterate what I said above, this is straight from the Luxilon on Tour Blog...

Luxilon is one of the few companies - and maybe the only company - in professional tennis that does not pay top players who use its products. It does provide free product to a number of players - but the majority of top players do, in fact, purchase Luxilon strings.

Here is the link to the full post... http://www.luxilonracquetsports.com/?p=632

Take care.

from what I've heard, Lux doesn't pay anyone for using their strings, however they do provide at least a few hundred top players with free strings through contracts.

I was also under the impression that luxilon doesn't pay players to use their strings. That was until their statement signing the bryan brothers, that made me doubt. From the bryan's point of view, why sign an exclusive contract without getting paid for it? Just for free strings??

I can't recall that luxilon made announcements like that before. It could be a signal of a new policy. Things may have changed, like the deal with wilson.

But than again, it could be nothing. Maybe luxilon was just proud :) and the bryan's happy with free strings. Until any of them come in and make a post it is just guessing.
However í would like to see the contract, i wouldn't bet my life on it that luxilon doesn't pay them.
