Lynx Tour vs Lynx thickness

So I've taken a micrometer to Lynx Tour and have pretty much concluded that their thickness is actually one up than advertised. For example, 1.25 is closer to 1.30, 1.30 is closer to 1.35, etc. This would explain why the strings are heavier to most when installed compared to another advertised string thickness.

I'm wondering if anyone has different thicknesses for regular Lynx that they can use a micrometer on. I'm curious if the same holds true for standard Lynx.

Was thinking of hybriding the two and was going to use 1.20 Lynx Tour (closer to 1.25) in the mains. On that note, anyone have experience using lynx tour in a hybrid or do you all use it in a full bed mostly?

Lynx is round so 1.30 mm is true to size. Lynx Tour is hexagonal and when they say 1.30, they’re saying the cross section is equivalent to a 1.30 mm round string. In order for this to happen, the geometric average of a circle has to be approximately 1.39 mm. So yes, your observation is valid, but the string still only has a cross section of a 1.30 mm round string. This implies that at the same ref tension, you should get the DT. You will get different spin but that is to be expected. I’ve explained this many times and you really don’t want to change gauge due to change in shape. Mass changes among brands are dur to the mixture of polyester pellet types and post processing.

My measurements of what I have:
Tour 17 orange 1.25 mm
17 yellow 1.25 mm
17 green 1.24 mm
18 yellow 1.20 mm
18 green 1.19 mm
Very close to spec and Tour not thicker than normal Lynx.
To compare: RPM Blast 17 black 1.23 mm
