Ruud won't face a Cerundolo consumed and petrified by the inherent pressure of a high stake match here, he'll have to up his level considerably to trouble Draper, or pray for a massive Draper's meltdown but I don't foresee such an outcome. IMO Jack's FH can really bully Casper's BH here.

Ruud has been struggling - really struggling - for a long time. He realised he has mental issues and worked on it. And he has managed to turn things around, and is starting to enjoy playing matches again. I think he is super happy to reach a final and knows Draper is the biggest in-form player on the tour at the moment. Win or lose, Madrid has been a HUGE step forward for Ruud.

Draper looks incredibly strong and should be a real contender everywhere the way he is playing now.

Draper heavily favoured here. Sure, he won IW, but lost R1 Miami. This is clay and he lost to Davidovich-Fokina R3 at Monte Carlo. Cant see why he should be such a big fav vs Ruud on clay. Although Casper often struggles vs this kind of player on HC, he usually handles them well on clay.

And there we have it. The double standards. You might as well just say in every thread - "Look, I cannot stomach Djokovic winning the slam race, he has ruined tennis for me, my idol Federer should have won, and I am not going to hide behind double standards to justify my pain."

At least you get credit for owning it and being honest.

Draper joins Murray as 1 of 2 British finalists in Madrid (Murray played back to back finals 2015-16). Ruud makes his 3rd Masters final and 2nd on clay (most recently 2024 Monte Carlo). Draper is looking for a 2nd Masters title in just 2 months and 1st on clay. Ruud is looking for his maiden Masters title and thus avoid the fate of fellow former top #10ers Nishikori and Raonic who never managed to land one. Nishikori came close at 2014 Madrid but was forced to retire when up a set against Nadal.

You know exactly what you are doing, because constantly crapping on that time frame to help you deal with the reality that Djokovic overtook Federer is what you have been doing.
