Why would it? It'll affect everyone equally.

Also, if it was go count, then obviously Love's predictions wouldn't count since she made them after the W/O were announced. In that case the policy should be changed to all of your predictions before the first match starts.

Do you guys really? I guess we can have people vote on it then if there's a disagreement. I have no problem not getting the prediction right, I just don't think in the future it'll work out well. Sometimes w/o happen before play has started and some have made predictions and others haven't. Then would we really count those people who made the predictions? It's up to everyone.

We discussed this during the first one, I believe, and it was decided that it's not any harder (and is actually easier) to pick the later matches than the early matches. But I'm willing to go along with 10/6 for the final and 8/4 for the semis or something like that.

Yup. Who's to say he would've won anyway? Davydenko is much the better play on clay court, considering his movement, consistency and track record on the surface.

I really can't see why increasing the points won for correctly predicting matches in latter stages of tournaments is necessary or fair.

Take this tournament for instance: Predicting the winning of a final on clay between Nadal and Federer or Nadal and Djokovic is in no way deservant of 10/6 points, especially when your comparing that to getting 5/2 points from predicting the outcome of a Wawrinka v Del Potro match. Its just not reflectant on a player's knowledge and intuitive understanding of the game.

My point is any Tom, Dick and Harry can tell the Semi final's are almost certainly going to be contested between Nadal, Federer, Murray and Djokovic... with the possibility of Verdasco or Del Potro causing a not all that suprising upset. Its the matches between the player's ranked outside the top 10 that people struggle with.

I know and I'm fine with the current system as well. As I said, I'm not against it either. Doesn't make a difference to me. However, I do agree what you say is fairer. In the draw challenge and such, you get more points for the later rounds because you're making predictions before the tourny starts. So if you make it all the way and still have those players, it's worth the extra points. Here, we make them hours before the match after we've seen them play and adapt to the surface.
