Magnificent Achievement

Are you such a casual that you can't appreciate that a dude who only just made his second main draw CHALLENGER appearance last month, ranked 270 in the world, is on Centre Court at Wimbledon against an 8 time champion, a 24 time major winner, and whatever state he is in, still the holder of a major title and officially the second best tennis player in the world, and took a set off of him?

That's pretty sad. It would be a great achievement wherever the hell he was from in a matchup that lopsided. Did you not see how '37-year old broken knee' rolled over his first round opponent? That guy was ranked just outside the top 100.

Not sure what this has to do with BRITISH tennis either, it's a SCOTTISH newspaper recognizing the battle one of their own put in. Get a grip. Go watch some more big 3 highlights.

Isn’t Scottish British?

Thank you poster from the future

Yah, the young lad played well in the 3rd, but the Brits over joyous reaction to taking a set off Djokovic, is simply crass to say the least. Over emotional for no particular reason.

Yes but as it evidently needs constant reminding on here Scottish tennis IS part of British tennis because Scotland is still part of Britain. Would we talk about Texan tennis as opposed to American tennis?

Scotland will always be part of Britain. It might, of course, one day no longer be part of the United Kingdom.

As far as I am aware, The Herald is not even distributed south of the border, so yes, if a Texas newspaper that got no circulation anywhere outside of Texas was talking about a Texan player then it would be the same thing.
