major foot pain...

I had recently come up with some minor foot pain... it only occurred occasionally, as if I strained something near my inner arch, but back a little towards the achilles tendon. I would play a match, and after a few minute minute between sets break I would get on the court and the pain would start. the break would consist of drinking water, standing, walking...no sitting or getting lazy. I thought nothing of it... until I rallied the next night with a girl who is dam good... she kept me running. for preventative measures, I took advil and stretched before play. the foot was bothering me the whole hour that we were playing. ever since then it has been killing me with major pain, it feels similar to a sprained ankle, but it is lower than the ankle, and just over/back of the inner arch. this is my left foot and I cannot walk normally on it now, but I seem to be fine when I put most of my wight on the outside of the foot, away from the arch. I have really flat feet, so whenever I walk normally it puts way too much pressure on the spot where it hurts, causing the pain. I've been off it for the last 2 days, icing it for 30 minutes, taking a 20 minute break and icing again. ive also kept up with advil to settle down any inflamation. I have had no progress with this foot getting better. I'm making an appointment with a specialist in 5 minutes, but besides that do any of you have any reccommendations?

well the doc stated I have pulled a muscle in my lower foot 1st layer, some weird name I cannot recall. he said keep up with the ice and advil, and he gave me a brace which helps alot. i can walk normally now... i know i should rest it but it feels so good i might get some playing in tonight with the new stick. ill tell everyone who isnt interested how it goes. lol.

As with all muscle strains and sprains, R.I.C.E is the preferred first line of defense (Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation). Buy a good quality cold compression wrap and use it after exercise. It will stop the inflammation and pain while the injury heals.

It's probably your post tibial tendon. I have post tibial tendonitis. Try googling it and see if tat's what you have.
