This climate change is making a vast impact on tennis matches......
See this cincinati masters, its washed up at a high extent.....
Retractable Roof should be compulsory for every Grandslam, ATP masters 1000, ATP500, ATP250 on atleast 2-3 courts for GS/M1000 and 1-2 on 500 and atleast 1 on 250....
You make tons of money, use a little to make roofs

I wonder actually how much money a typical 250 event makes of a given year. Would be interesting to find out!

Roof is awesome. bigger tournaments must have at least Stadium and Court 1 with Roof on top. It isn't as expensive as people think to put up the roof. this kind of roof is very cheap to put in and is great for situation like in Cinci.

They should play on a constantly changing surface with different obstacles, like in Pokemon.

Be practical...
I know nadal does not like roof as it evens out his wicked weapons....
But continued match is first and foremost priority, and game is above any player...
Time is the most valuable asset in 21st century

Ban clay, make everything indoor. Also make grass 6 months of the year. Ban Nadal and Djokovic and strip them of their titles, since they cheated their way to all these Slams by taking too much time between points. Give those titles from Djokodal to Federer. Now he has 50 Slams.

Does it have anything to do with fedovic???
You as a nole fan, should be aware of the fact that nole is a clean hitter...
And anyways, roofs are meant for continuing the match without long rain halts, game is above any player and time is the most valuable asset in 21st century (saying this for 2nd time)

You might either be on to something or you might be on something. Can’t decide.

Also make all Slams and ATP matches played in one 8-game "pro-set". Script entire tournament before it starts, and run it solely for entertainment.

I think that should make tennis more exciting, right? Right???????

Sorry for the rants, I'm just really pIssed off at the ITF killing Davis Cup

does this guy ever write Federer with a lowercase 'f'?

I've always loved that Hamburg roof.

But then all these Fed haters will accuse every tournament of conspiring to make it easier on him. The Rooferer will become more hated that Sasha Zverev. :(

It seems like people want roofs to ruin tennis simply out of fandom. These are the types of people that actually like roofs on even if there isn’t a cloud in the sky on a sunny afternoon.

“I hate the homogenization of tennis surfaces! Put a roof on every court!”

Wow. So would roof construction over rome and RG (resulting in rafa defeats at both rome F and RG QF) would be conspiracy for roger even if he does not play clay???

I like Nadal but he and Djokovic of course cheated. If everyone took extra few seconds between points, they'd all be multiple Slam winners. Federer would be sitting on 67 Slams if he cheated too. But he is too graceful and a gentleman to be cheating like those Serbian and Spanish thugs.

Fedr for life. GOAT!! *fist pumps *
What a gentleman.

If this brings back carpet and fast hard courts it shall be done

If this does not bring back carpet and fast hard courts it shall be burned in fires of hell because tennis is a mostly outdoors sport
For once (the rarest of rare occasions) I agree completely with your post. We need diversity in speeds of courts and outdoors if it is not raining.

No, Majors should and bigger Masters should consider.
The roof only assists live audience in the late rounds. This assumes there are outside courts.
The roof is only really valuable for internationally televised matchs. The cost is great and smaller tournments are getting little to no coverage outside the local region
Free market indicated that they are not cost effective. Who going to pay for this infrastructure, state, government? Tennis is bearly surviving outside the the Majors and fewtournmrnts without this mamouth investment.
Conditions should be similar for all players having a dual tier tournament like AO where some players only play indoor at night is not fair. Wimbledon having Federer CT given it plays different and not known for upsets is unfair. Sampras playing every match at his final USO under lights given he's undefeated their under lights looks rigged. Starting to look like there's 2 different Tournments going on, three at Wimbledon because qualifying.
There are more important things the need addressing and this would make tennis an elitist sport only played in few places. Or end up with small player Tourneys with 16,24 or 32 players like it used to be like.

If Halle can have a roof as a 500 event (and until very recently a 250), then Cincy sure as hell needs to get one.

Zero Evid of that but I am underwater in Cincy and this venue must be moved to South America or just make it a 500 series

Might as well put Cincy under Lake Michigan

Move Cincy out of mid - west

I have to agree. It makes no sense to play most of the tournaments leading up to the U.S. Open in the Great Lakes area or the Northeast. Summers have become increasingly wet there over the last 20 years. They used to have tournaments in Los Angeles and Scottsdale 10 years ago in July and August and they never had any issues with rainouts.

I recall the Scottsdale tournament being in early March prior to Indian Wells, but not in August. Cincinnati has had terrible luck with weather in two of the last three years. Obviously, afternoon and evening thunderstorms are commonplace in the ******* during the summer months, but the situations in 2016 and 2018 were/are abnormal. Still, I firmly believe that these summer events need to begin play no later than 10 AM each day. I'm not sure whether the long time 11 AM start is set based upon player preference or as a way to give fans more time to arrive, but I think it is too late. You have to try to get as much tennis in early in the day as possible. It would not have mattered on Thursday or Friday at Cincy, but it would have helped on Wednesday.
