Make Your Own Schedule

Thought this might be fun, and a thread that could possibly avoid devolving into the norm.

Pretend you are a top 10 player and slam contender on the ATP Tour. What events would you choose to play?

At a minimum, let's say you have to play a full ranking points schedule, which consists of the 4 slams, 8 mandatory 1000s, and 6 500/250 level events of your choice (also includes the optional 1000 @ Monte Carlo). Now, you can play more, but let's go with that as a minimum.

I'm curious to see how others would schedule based on where they're from, which events they like, etc. So, I'll start.

Brisbane - obvious tune up for Australia and it makes sense to stay/play in the same country.
Australian Open
Memphis - other than, it is the closest event to where I live and I would not want to skip all of February without playin
Indian Wells
Miami
Monte Carlo
Madrid
Rome
Roland Garros
Halle - I would play Queens at least once, but I like the Halle event better. And, I'd like to visit Germany.
Wimbledon
Washington, D.C../Atlanta - since both are relatively close geographically, I think I'd try to play at least one of them.
Toronto/Montreal
Cincinnati
U.S. Open
Beijing - I would play Tokyo once, to visit Japan, but generally I would play Beijing and stay in China for...
Shanghai
Basel
Paris

That would be my minimum schedule. There are a few other tournaments I would consider for various reasons (Rio, Acapulco, Houston, Israel), either because it's closer to my home or I would like to visit the country.:)

nadal should have played at 12 midday in the 35 degree humidity with a real feel of 42 degrees, that would give his fans something to whinge and whine about.

I'd sit out Miami and Madrid (claim injury or something probably).
If I went far in Shanghai and Basel I would probably sit out Paris too.

I'd pick a pretty similar schedule to your's. Only changes I would make are:

Chennai over Brisbane - My ancestry is from Chennai and I still have a lot of family there so to be a top 10 player going back to my place of origin so to speak would be epic

Dubai over Memphis - I've always wanted to visit the middle east and given that both Djoko and Fed can't get enough of this place, it must be a pretty sweet tournament in terms of hospitality.

Winter hard: a 250, AO, Dubai, IW, Miami
Clay: 3 masters + RG (too packed for anything else)
Grass: Queen's and Wimbledon
Summer clay: Hamburg if grass didn't go well
Summer hard: Canada, Cincy + USO
Asian swing: Beijing and Shanghai
Indoor: Paris and WTF (3rd indoor depending on fatigue and year burnout)

Don't want to go to Dubai with all the Arabs, and don't want to go to any eastern countries where they eat dogs.

1. Only tournaments held in democratic countries.

2. All Grand Slams and Masters (except China as in 1.)

3. Brisbane/Sydney, Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires, Acapulco, Stuttgart/Munich, Barcelona, Halle, Queen's, Washington, Tokyo and Basel.

4. Finals :D

Not that many tournaments you can choose other than a few 250's and 500's here and there.

Doha (money)
AO
Dubai (money)
Indian Wells
Miami
Monte Carlo
Munich (if I feel fit enough to play 3 clay tournaments in a row)
Madrid
Rome
FO
Halle (closer to where I live) but I'd go to Queen's once to check it out
Wimbledon
Hamburg (if I feel ok physically)
Canada
Cincinnati
US Open
Beijing and Tokyo alternately, then decide which one is better
Shanghai
Basel
Paris WTF

This of course assuming I prefer hard courts.

I'll adjust schedule favouring my playing style so that it will ensure me qualifying for WTF. May be add one or two Mickey Mouse Tournaments solely for Vulturing purpose like Murray did last season. I simply loves that tournament.
