That was a thought that briefly crossed my mind. I sort of disregarded it because I figured why would an old machine even bought new cost more a couple years later?

Inflation, manufacturing costs that increase with fuel price, etc. It's not like many industries where there's yield issues that improve over time. The raw materials will likely only increase in cost for a device like a Klippermate.
