Marat Safin ATP highlight reel

Marat was such a boss.

Who wants to watch these weak-era MUGS? I want to see Zverev hit 20 loopy forehands in a row from 15 feet behind the baseline before missing one into the bottom of the net and smashing his racquet.

That's tennis.
Tennis evolution :-D

He had it all - big serve, dangerous return, powerful forehand, great backhand, touch at the net, good thinking on court, even his movement was solid for his height. He did not have the right mentality though.

Safin's main issue was his health. He finally dedicated himself to tennis starting in late 2004 and the results began to follow with 2 masters titles, close YEC SF loss to Fed and GS title. After that, he injured his knee and was never the same again.

LOL that get vs Pete at the Masters Cup. And people have the gall to compare the movement of any of these storks today to him. Safin's movement is a totally different dimension. Safin's court coverage was insane for his size (or any size honestly in terms of single gets) but in terms of quick feet/footwork and explosiveness within the court to set up shots, 2009 Delpo is the only guy close to Safin's level among the big guys and Safin was definitely a bit lighter on his feet than Delpo and faster although JMDP was taller.

That video didn't even show his best points because it was all outside of the slams. There were some really good points vs Hewitt at 04 Paris they didn't show either.

Cilic was the best moving stork, in my opinion.

Cilic was light on his feet and could cover lots of court for his size, but he lacked the explosiveness of Safin and 09 Delpo to really attack balls and put consistent pressure on off the baseline.
