Looking forward to it...an absolute favourite of mine!! Hopefully he is in good shape (no drug jokes please...the discussion is not worth it, and no-one but himself really knows if he did it or not)...and drugs or not, he's a technically skillful clay-courter...

Lets just hope he's not doping, it really backfired, getting caught doping and still losing to the top spin god.

Mariano Puerta is back, not "it's back!"

Plus, why bring this thread up again? It was started a year ago; he's played many tournaments already.

Please differentiate your cheaters, one cheater (corea) is struggling, another (Canas) won last night against clear player, and Gisela's favorite Gonzalez.
All those illegal drugs but so many rules. What is a steriod pusher to do...(a joke.)

I kind of like "it's back" though. Makes him seem kind of scary, like the Creature from the Black Lagoon or something.

Corea is a country.

I hope he used his time wisely. He was given a free pass to use all the steroids he want for such a long time, he can show us all the effects of that now. ;) Anyways I was just wondering, you get suspended and does anyone follow what do you do or take in the meantime ? Canas seemed a lot better last year then now when he just got back ?

Is this not the cheater who was banned not once, but twice?
Just because they were in his system didn't mean he took them to cheat.

If the ATP had proved he had knowingly taken them then he would be banned for life but he managed to prove that he took precausions and that it could of happened to anyone, that's why he got a small ban when he could of been banned for life.

Imagine how many things would be found in our bodies if we went through these special tests? A cough medicine here, a decongestant there etc... I remember a skiier getting banned and having his Olympic medal taken from him as he used a Vicks vapor rub to help his cold, it's scary.

Very true, but being caught with a substance in his body he knows is illegal to the sport, then using the excuse that he 'accidentally' drank from his wife's glass (and this being the second infraction) is a little too much to swallow. IMO.

This is not the only occurrence of this. Romanian gymnast Andreea Raducan got stripped of her gymnastics all-around gold medal in the 2000 Sydney Olympics testing positive for Pseudoephedrine, a substance that was contained in a variation of the cold medicine she was given during the contest (or before ... can't remember exactly).
The fact is that the substance (as admitted by officials at the time) couldn't help her in any way, and was subsequently taken off the banned list. The gold medal was never given back though ... and a true Olympic Champion was never able to recover mentally and subsequently retired from the sport.
Life is just great sometimes ...

What what ? You get banned for second time and I just wonder if anyone keeps track of what you do while serving the ban. If not, he can just as easily abuse whatever he wants and stop a few months before he is due to come back and there you go. Whats up with the question marks, you have a hard time figuring out something ? 3.000.000 people below the age of 21 are using steroids in usa .. What did your what mean ?

Another scary story.

The tribunal who sorted Puerta's case said "The amount of etilefrine in his body was too small to have any effect on his performance" .. so he gained no advantage from it being in his system, does that still count as cheating?
