I was thinking about this, too. Then, I thought when he meets Nole he'll lose in straights.

I know that the odds of 50/1 are meant to denote a 2% chance, but technically, a 2% chance should be 49/1. 50/1 is more like a 1.96% chance. ;)
Well it depends on how it's defined (not that I would know bc I don't bet). If the first number (50) is meant to denote the "total" then 1/50=0.02. Of course if it is meant to denote the "negative scenario" then it'd be 1/51=0.0196 as you say. Again, I dunno which it is bc I don't bet

Medvedev and Federer are still co-2nd favorites at 13/2. I'm mighty surprised Med is still up there after his 1R Halle exit. Federer, I can understand, because of his 8 titles, and because of the legions of fans, some of whom will bet on him.

Good old Cilic sure is one of the favorites, the 9th one, to be exact!

He played good power tennis in Stuttgart which was very fast but Wimbledon is far slower. It will be tougher for him to blow opponents away at Wimbledon.

Well, if he avoids a grass specialist Pella, he may have a good run.

On a serious note, I think he's been declining for a few years now, not sure if he can be consistent enough to have another run. Which is a pity, grass is obviously his best surface and rewards his aggressive return, big serve and relatively flat/hard strokes. He lost only to Djokovic and Federer between 2014-2017, five and eight time champions.

Cilic will not win wimbledon. Head has so little confidence in him, they removed his likeness from all the new racket packaging sold in big box stores recently.

Cilic's level depends on one thing : confidence. He had none for a long time now and so was playing way below his best. If in Stuttgart and now in Queens he found it again and he believes in himself again, then Cilic's level can be scary at WB. Don't know about Djokovic but at his best on grass Cilic easily beats every Next Gen player (as of now)

Cilic to beat Djokovic and FAA to beat Federer and Nadal (I would like to observe Tio Toni's reaction ;)). Cilic to beat FAA in a repeat of Stuttgart finals at Wimbeldon to get his second slam. you heard it here first :giggle:

I'd like to see FAA-Djokovic at some point. Just like Sampras-Federer '01, the current and future Wimbledon kings, on Centre Court.

Also appropriate, Djokovic takes on all newcomers: Tsisipas at RG, FAA at Wimbledon.

Civic is simply not consistent enough at this stage to win 3 out of 5 sets regularly at Wimbledon. In terms of quality he’s probably a top 5 grass player still, but you can’t put any money on him,

LOL not even close, he's 50/1 to win Wimbledon so he's got 0% chance.

Wawrinka 2014 AO, Cilic 2014 USO and Fed at AO 2017 was like 35-1.

Plus betting odds are just volume, take it from a guy who's consistently made money off betting lines, they are initially set at a point but nowadays movements begins early and so forth.

Cilic is easily in the Top 10 and may be Top 5 contender in terms of form and experience. The biggest block on him is how heavy of a favourite Novak is. Essentially the betting lines are skewed towards Novak vs. the field and at this point a lot of bettors only really knowing the Djokovic name after Nadal dropped off. This is why absolute tools are still putting money on Fed.

He's crushing the grass season so far

serving and hitting BIG
I think he lacks stamina to go back 2 back 5 setters against top players. Although he has a stellar 5 set record i think he will be tired by 2nd week. At 33 with huge body weight he can struggle to match flexible young players. For example Alex De Minaur beat him yesterday without having any big weapon.

Still think he can be a dark horse, won't win a title but can upset someone
