Marko Djokovic as a coach.

His first tournament as a coach and his pupil immediately wins a Masters title.
This have to be some sort of a record or something.

I am sure he has picked up a thing or two, from being around Novak and his team most of his life. I am also sure Djokovic is very close to his brother, and wanted to do well for him also.
But there is not doubt he was on the phone with Vajda a lot during these weeks.

I would LOVE to see you giving him some advices.

Kind of.
My point is it's easy to coach someone like Djokovic. The dude is exceptional in every department, he doesn't need to run around his forehand, he beats players in the locker room, what do you tell him?

Coach someone like Wawrinka - someone who was considered a talented player but very inconsistent and mentally frail. Take such player from that to 3 Slams.

Djokovic would've won a bunch of Slams in 2014-2016 with or without Becker.

I agree and I got you right away, just wanted to play around a bit. ;)

Federer played without a "box" coach for a number of years, Marko is mainly a hitting partner, and from love Djokovic has put him in the sun, in the box as coach, so that Vajda can have a week off here and there to spend time with his family.

Vajda is the main coach. Marko taking over that job from now on seems unlikely. To me it is just a friendly playful brotherly gesture.

Typical Djokovic ;)

Serbs are very family-oriented. Novak has always ensured that Marko gets plenty of wildcards into tournaments he appears at. When Marko retires I have no doubt he'll transition into a coaching sinecure.

When Novak retires and goes into Serbian politics, Marko will no doubt have some role on his campaign staff.

Look, nothing wrong with helping a bro out and giving him some responsibility and a chance to learn. Handouts and fortunate relationships happens everywhere (president of US), and sometimes they make the best of it... sometimes not.

Unfortunately, I feel like this opportunity is to give Marko a chance to coach on his own after Djoker retires. I for one don't think he is of value yet, but maybe he will be after 5 years of learning daily from Djokovic and his team.

 I don't see him in politics, in philosophy or Tibet maybe...

He has given political speeches in the past, cultivated a strong nationalist image, and is pretty chummy with the political class in Serbia. He has immense personal popularity within Serbia, so he will be eagerly courted for elected office once he retires.

He's denied having political aspirations, but so have plenty of politicians. I feel like this stuff with the Players Council shows that he isn't averse to a bit of power.

Now that Pepe has helped Marko get out of depression, Novak is helping Marko to 'get into life'. Or something like that.

Also, Marko sitting in for Vajda at warm up event made Novak just a bit more determined to win it, I guess. Everyone's gain of sorts.

He has been disconnected from politics for quite some time, frankly I don't recall him saying anything straight political anytime in his career. And especially now when he is on different path in his life, spiritual, healthy living, I can't see any politician doing that.
You just have to make distinction from what people see in him and what is he really inside. So what if he is popular ? So are singers, actors, some scientists, writers... are we going to stamp every popular figure as future politician ? He isn't political Messiah for sure and he knows that. He also knows mud of Serbian politics, and I don't think he wants to wrestle there with other lowlifes. He is tennis figure and will stay in that branch as long as he can.

“We are prepared to defend what is rightfully ours. Kosovo is Serbia.”

We will see. I think you are pretty naive.

"Kosovo is Serbia" is not political per se among Serbs.
I think I am realistic. He has nothing to prove or chase in politics. I see no benefits for him or people he would represent.

Not sure how it goes in Serbia - if you stay outside in a tax haven , can you still have political aspirations??

Pretty naive public if that be the case

It was pretty political in 1999.
Especially in 1999 when all the people were united in surviving attacks from biggest military machinery in the world.
By the way, Djokovic was turning 12 in 1999, I doubt you were following his statements from that year.

He's just coached Big Bro to his first Masters title in 7 months so he's made a very successful debut.

Ahh, you're a Seseljevci. Everything makes sense now.

I don't think I want to continue this conversation. Good luck to you.
First of all I despise that creature and his political party, second - if I agree with you and you call me bad name bcs of it, what was the rant all about then ?
And one more thing - it was you who made input about Albanians and 1999, leading conversation in some other direction I didn't want to go.
