Martina Navratilova praises Rafael Nadal

It is all Fed's fault. A champion like Laver or Serena plays a regular final match, loses, and leaves. They don't engineer their own dramatic send-off to cater to their limitless ego.

Drama queen Federer's ego forced Nadal to play through pain and be hammered by Sock and Tiafoe.

People should not put up with this.
‘Hammered’. You don’t let the facts get in your way do you?

The vaccine mandates have been abolished nearly everywhere now. He doesn’t need to take it and shouldn’t do it to just please governments. It proves he was right and all these countries overreacted to this nonsense. Good on Novak sticking to his guns.
Countries have abolished the vaccine mandates thanks to achieving high vaccination rates, i.e. thanks to the people who have been vaccinated. Djoko hasn't contributed to this.

Is it really necessary to have 100% uptake for any vaccine? It’s never been necessary and it’s not for covid. I got treble jabbed but if someone chooses not to I’m not going to say they didn’t contribute or they letting the side down. That’s just petty stuff.

It is a personal choice for every individual and that should be respected. Whether Djokovic gets vaccinated or not isn’t going to cause the hospitals to collapse or end of the world.

He’s not in the vulnerable category so he makes a choice for him like we all do. I decided to get it and he didn’t which is a free choice.

The idea that if more people thought like Novak is silly. As more vulnerable or elderly people are gonna see it different regardless of Novak’s choice is it is more necessary to get the vaccine. Whether Novak gets the vaccine or not has no bearing on our choices and when it comes to it.

He’s just 1 person and yes we have high uptake enough that’s great for the world but the percentage that don’t take it shouldn’t be punished or treated differently just because they don’t want it. That has always been the case before covid unless maybe you from Asia where they more stricter with rules, etc.

Especially now we know overall it doesn’t really stop transmission much and that fit and healthy people like Novak or less likely to burden the health service anyway.

One person's freedom ends where another's begins.

Whatever. I expect him to announce retirement soon after that.
Nadal wants to play the 2024 Olympics, so no chance of him retiring before that, especially since the treatment worked on his foot!
He's also said he'll keep playing for as long as he's a slam contender.
So the question is, when will Nadal stop being a slam contender?
I'm guessing 2026 or 2027 (y)

Well Federer was planning a comeback for the late part of this year, didn't he. Look what happened to him!? These things come at you really fast. Nadal looks like a dead man walking right now, so 2023 FO as a retirement date looks absolutely feasible at the moment. ;)
Rafa is 5 years younger.

Yeah I know, 2 slams and a Wimbledon SF, dead man walking :-D
Let's face it, no injury can stop Nadal, we've learned that well and truly!
The guy won Roland Garros with a broken rib, he'll win it a lot easier next year, and clearly a chance at Wimbledon after making SFs the last 3 times he played it.
Fighters like Nadal don't retire with a victory, they retire when they're ranked 20 or 30.
How long will it take for Nadal to be ranked 20? 2026 at the earliest.

Are you saying he will retire sooner, like when he delivers a baby next week?
Disgusting post really, doesn't befit you (or maybe it does), gentleman.
Let me explain, first of all, he is a biological male, so he can't deliver a baby, his wife's gonna.
As for the second, I don't see him retiring anytime before 2024 olympics at RG.

It was a joke based on the modern inclusive term "we are pregnant." If we are pregnant, we will deliver.

I am surprised there are so many people on here who didn't get it.

I need to dumb down my posts for the larger audience.

Nadal has never been ranked out of top10 since he made it there. Consistency GOAT.
