I am seeing some big serves and great volleys from del Potro. this could be a bad news for the rest of the ATP tour. He could be a threat to win the Aussie open.

What are you smoking or your just kidding?
I mean played a really good match against Robredo, but there are a lot of better players out there. JMDP seems to be one of those up and coming players, only time will tell.
Patrick Mcenroe had said Juan is only a big serve and good volley away from winning a slam or contending for a slam, and it seems like Juan has improved his serve dramatically, so he becomes a big threat. His groundies are already in top 5 in the world.
I am sorry, I think I misunderstood your post but I think he can contend in the majors. His ground strokes maybe top 5, but his movement is definitely top 100. Again, he is only 18 years old and can only get better with experience.
A good serve and a volley away?! Not really.did you see his between the leg offensive topspin lob for a clean winner ?? ONly players with god like ability can pull off shots like that. robredo almost peed in his pants.![]()
Gonzalez advances to QF and Shangai after beating Monaco 64 62.
This clinched Shangai for him? Excellent!![]()
Not yet, but he is going to take a big lead over the 9th after Madrid.
Djokovic will serve for the match, 5-4 in the 3rd. Some people (not all) in the crowd are silly, booing Djoko just because he challenges?
I would guess they are booing because they'd love to see a Spaniard upset Nole? They are just passionate tennis fans!![]()
Hoping Djokovic won't have any serious lasting problems for the ankle injury today :-(
Nalbandian breaks early in the 1st set. Serves 2-1
Too bad he held and broke Nadal again. And now he serves for a 5-1 lead.Too bad he has such a crap serve it wont matter if he breaks Nadal or not.
Unbelievable, Rafa plays 1 singles match and he is injured again. He is visibly limping, this is very very worrisome, for the masters finals and next year as well. this may end rafa's career.
Maybe if Nalbo stopped being so mean to your poor Rafa and blasting winners by him every other point he would be feeling better.
Nalbandian was amazing today. Nadal was definitely not that sharp, but alot of that was probably due to Nalbandian's amazing play. Taking the ball so early, giving Nadal hardly anytime, hitting with such precision and accuracy.
Problem is that Nadal's greatest weapon lefty forehand was negated by Nalbandian's backhand which is one of the best in the game.
I'll copy what I posted in the other thread:
Nadal used the wrong strategy, and was too stubborn to adjust it in the whole match.
Nadal served every single second serve to David's backhand. David hammered every single second serve deeply to the corner and waited for the short reply. Nalbandian played wisely, Nadal did not.
Rafa tried to hammer David's backhand with his forehand, but every stroke was short, landing around the service line.
Nalbandian out-rallied and out-served Nadal. His ground game was flawless today: High backhand, low backhands, high forehands, slice backhands, volleys. Everything worked.
Nadal didn't have an answer for it.
