I can't believe you left out Federer Roddick AO 2007 SF.
I think that was the last time i remember Roddick getting bagelled.

Can't forget 2009 USO Del Potro d. Nadal 6-2 6-2 6-2 either.

God Mode Tournament: Federer in Doha, 2005. He didn't lose serve throughout the whole tournament and straight setted all his opponents with no tiebreaks (in fact, no one got more than 4 games off him in any one set).

not sure about which match to choose, but two of the best sets I've ever seen were Federer's first 6-0 set against Hewitt in the 2004 USO Finals and Federer's second set (again, 6-0) against Tommy Haas at the 2006 AO.

I couldn't believe what I was seeing in that first set.

I totally agree about the 2005 AO semis. In the beginning Marat was kinda regular, but when Roger tried and failed that shot between his legs he seemed to have switched Marat's God mode button to the ON position. That was a hell of a match. After that, in the finals Marat simply crushed Hewitt.

Also another match where both players were on fire was the Basel final between Federer and Shripachan, don't remember the year, they both played like beasts!

ahh yea that was an amazing match Fed had to pull out all the goods to take down Shrichhpan

Bjorn Borg for the entire 1978 French Open and for the 1978 Wimbledon final against Connors in particular. He lost only 7 games in the W final. At the FO that year, he lost a total of 32 games and dropped no sets. I'd also include the 1976 W tourney, when he won the tourney without losing a set. (his first W title, beating Nastase in the final)

1978 Wimbledon

R128 Victor Amaya (USA) W 8-9, 6-1, 1-6, 6-3, 6-3
R64 Peter McNamara (AUS) W 6-2, 6-2, 6-4
R32 Jaime Fillol Sr. (CHI) W 6-4, 6-2, 6-8, 6-4
R16 Geoff Masters (AUS) W 6-2, 6-4, 8-6
Q Sandy Mayer (USA) W 7-5, 6-4, 6-3
S Tom Okker (NED) W 6-4, 6-4, 6-4
W Jimmy Connors (USA) W 6-2, 6-2, 6-3

1978 French Open

R128 Eric Deblicker (FRA) W 6-1, 6-1, 6-1
R64 Rick ***el (USA) W 6-0, 6-1, 6-0
R32 Paolo Bertolucci (ITA) W 6-0, 6-2, 6-2
R16 Roscoe Tanner (USA) W 6-2, 6-4, 7-6
Q Raul Ramirez (MEX) W 6-3, 6-3, 6-0
S Corrado Barazzutti (ITA) W 6-0, 6-1, 6-0
W Guillermo Vilas (ARG) W 6-1, 6-1, 6-3

Holy crap that's insane at the 78 French Open. Think about it, 7 bread sticks and 6 bagels he served to his opponents. That's 13 of the 21 sets that his opponent got a bagel or bread stick. Lets go even one step further. Out of the 21 sets, only 5 times was someone able to get more then 2 games off him.

And Zvereva only got 13 points the entire match. Steffi was in god mode and ahnialated her.

Yes, this has be the match to be given the crown for someone in GOD mode and also annihilating the opponent. Heck she beat her so bad, one could even say that Zvereva might as well have not been on the court.

Robin Soderling in 2009 FO 4th round against Nadal, and then this year in the FO QF against Federer. When he hits the lines, you're not beating him.

Serena Vs Sharapova - AO 07, one of her finest performanes.

Totally agree. So for me:

Serena vs. Sharapova AO 07-A clinical dissection

Rafa vs. Federer FO 2008-See above

Rafa vs. Soderling FO 2010-A matter of wills

Rafa vs. Soderling W 2010-Soderling didn't even look like he believed anymore.

Berdych vs. Fed W 2010-He made it look so easy.

Fed vs. Soderling USO 2010-It was like Fed willed the wind to only blow on Sod's side.

Rafa vs. Verdasco AO 2009-Brilliant shotmaking throughout.

Rafa vs. Fed AO 2009-I didn't think he had enough left. I had already conceded that match.

Sharapova vs. Henin AO ?-Henin never had a chance.

Rafa vs. Puerta FO 2004? Amazing clay court prowess from both men.

Safin vs. Sampras 2000 USO-Awesome display.

Tsonga vs. Rafa 2008? AO-Flawless performance.

Simon vs. Fed Toronto? First time I noticed how much I liked his game.

Too many to mention.

wen was sharapova/henin?

Yeah. I love Murray's style of play. He has that uniqueness that sets him apart. And I like his personality. He seems like a real nice guy.

Passive play styles aren't my thing. Murray might seem like a nice guy he's just soooo boring. His press conferences consist of rehashed statements and shows little enthusiasm off the court, he almost seems devoid of a personality off court while he whines on court and screams whenever he loses a point.

I don't see it as passive I see it more like a chess player. I enjoy a lot of different styles, I'm not addicted to any one style of play. For me it's the whole players' persona, the way they handle the press and whether or not all of the factors go together. I don't find Murray boring at all. I like nice.

The most important thing for me is the way they treat others. He's respectful. I like that, a lot. I despise reading about players who put negativity in the press. As long as they don't do that I can pretty much like anybody.

Lots of great ones mentioned. Good memories: Borg, Mac, Boris, PEte, et al.

Here's one not yet mentioned:
Roberto Carretero, Hamburg '96. Ranked outside the top 100. Qualied for Hamburg, a Super 9. Ripped through the draw, taking down Kafelnikov and Corretja (who knew their way around a clay court).
Tennis' one-hit wonder.

Oh, honorable mention:
Patrick Cash, 1987 Wimbledon champion
Yannick Noah, the great champion of Roland Garros, '83.

When Korda beat Pete 7-6 in the 5th at the 97 US Open. I think it was 7-6 in the 5th. Anyway, the BH of Korda was in full flight. Over and over with that BH pass. Unreal.

Nastase over Ashe in the 72 Forest Hills final. Ashe had a 2 sets to 1 lead and was up a break in the 4th. THe moment he let that slip, Nastase went into Rog-mode.

Krajicek over Pete and everyone else at Wimbledon in 96.

Goran ripping through Chang and PEte on the way to the Key Biscayne final. Had a crick in his neck and ret'd early against Andre in the final.

Guga at RG in 97, 2000 and 2001. Big serving, deft touch, patience. Just so good.

Rios in Miami and Indian Wells 98. Ripper.

PEte over Andre, 95 US Open final, especially after that great set pt at the end of the 1st set.

Roger deserves a few mentions, too.

Somes match not mentionned:
Soderling vs Nadal FO 2009
Gaudio vs Hewitt FO 2004
Baghdatis vs Nalbandian AO 2006 (if we except the first 2 sets)
Gasquet vs Roddick W 2007
Simon vs Federer/Nadal in 2008

Andre Agassi 1995 summer, except the USO final
John McEnroe 1984 season, except few matches like FO final...
Djokovic in AO 2008
Martin Verkerk FO 2003 until the final

this one was cruel... the crowd didn't know he had a neck problem, and was booing him for poor play in those few games. :?
goran was really on fire in the beginning of 1996: between the gran slam cup 1995 and the beginning of the 1996 clay season, he compiled a 42-5 record ! :)
