Matching service, measurement results

Hi, did any of you use the matching service, where they measure 6 rackets and you can choose the ones you like?
I‘d like to gather that information here. Mainly because I was quite dissapointed when I found out that even RA can vary by 4 points between rackets. So if you're unlucky you can really get like two different rackets, even if you match weight, balance and swingweight. So I'd like to find out, if that's also kind of like the "industry standard".

It would be great, if you could all use the same formatting, so it's easier to read:

MANUFACTURER - MODEL

1. W: 305,0 SW: 300 BAL: 32,0 RA: 70
2. W: 305,0 SW: 300 BAL: 32,0 RA: 70
3. W: 305,0 SW: 300 BAL: 32,0 RA: 70
4. W: 305,0 SW: 300 BAL: 32,0 RA: 70
5. W: 305,0 SW: 300 BAL: 32,0 RA: 70
6. W: 305,0 SW: 300 BAL: 32,0 RA: 70

2. W: 306,4 SW: 296 BAL: 32,0 RA: 70
3. W: 306,2 SW: 301 BAL: 32,0 RA: 70
4. W: 304,1 SW: 302 BAL: 32,5 RA: 70
5. W: 305,1 SW: 303 BAL: 32,5 RA: 70
6. W: 304,7 SW: 296 BAL: 32,0 RA: 69

#3: W:324.22g Bal:31.1cm SW:292
They didn't specifically reveal the RA, but I am pretty sure they mentioned it would be the same, amazing in my opinion. I really didn't have a strong opinion on which to get, but went with #1.

Huh, interesting. I paid for a matching service for my Prestige MPs that I got for ~$160 each (15% off the sale price), but I wasn’t provided with options. They sent me two racquets that were both under spec in static weight (315g), but the balance was essentially the same - which I consider the more important variable anyway. Not from TW though, so maybe this other retailer does not share the specs of the sampled racquets.

Not to detract from the purpose of this thread, but if I were to pay for a matched pair in the future, is it standard practice for the retailer to provide measured specs from the samples?

As a side note, I have found TW's matching service to be significantly better than other big online retailers.
Even better when done in CA

Yes, TW has always sent me the data for approval prior to sending out the racquets.
This was not my experience with another large online store.

I actually found out that TW europe offered it by coincidence. Can‘t even find something about it on their website.
It costs 20€ and you have to tell them after your order. Then they measure 6 rackets for you to choose from.

Yeah I paid $20 for the matching service from where I bought from, and figured they'd measure a few and send me the two closest or something.

Looks like they increased stiffness for 2021 models for sure... I bought Tour (2019) 61 RA and my arm loved it. Then switched to Gravity Pro (2021) 67 RA and after some time 67 RA got to me... Its shame i cant play with my Pro because i like it better than Tour.

I don't know. I saw somewhere, that someone else also got higher stiffness numbers for gravity (pro or tour) model from TW Europe. Maybe their machine is not calibrated. I played with both 2019 and 2021. I can't decide if i feel some difference

Short answer - message their customer support and they will take you through it.
Long answer - from memory (although happy to be corrected as its been a few years since I queried it), you contact the customer support service first to flag you want the matching service, they will ask you to go through the checkout process as normal but select bank transfer instead of the normal card methods. They will then send you an invoice for the original purchase, plus the the matching service cost (I believe you need to pay for this first before they will measure rackets). They will then measure six random rackets from their stock and provide you with the numbers. If you want more rackets measured, then you will need to pay again for another six to be measured - this can be done until you find what you want or the whole of the TWE stock has been measured.

I recently got 10x Head 360+ Prestige Mids matched.
I will post the actual numbers when I get a chance, but quality control was actually really good. Swing-weights were generally very close, and those that weren't you could have guessed from the static weight and balance.

10x Head Graphene 360+ Mids.
These measurements are all with the plastic wrap still on the handles, so a balance of 305 should actually be 310 once the wrap is removed.
All had RA measurements of 67 or 68.
You can see how, if you only had access to static weight and balance measurements, you could confidently guess which will have the higher or lower swing-weight.
I chose number 1, 2, 3, 5, and 7.

Racquet number -- Static weight -- Balance -- Swing-weight

2326305299
3327305302

5324305299

The process is simple and painless. Just email: information.en@tenniswarehouse-europe.com to advise them of the racquet(s) you are intending to order. Someone in customer services will reply with the email which I've copied below.

The key is to select bank transfer as payment method when completing the order. An order number and invoice will be emailed to you. Email customer services the order number and they will add the matching service and the additional €20 to your invoice. This will be viewable on your order summary on the website. If you wish to pay by card, then you will need to call them on the customer services number since the website does not seem to have a way to allow for card payment once the "bank transfer as payment" option has been selected.

Depending on the day and time, it can take quite a few calls to get through to them and the phone may ring out several times. Someone is there; they just seem a little understaffed.

It is otherwise straightforward and customer service is reasonably quick to respond via emails. The matching service item is listed on your order invoice, as is the racquet number(s) which you select from the list of 6 they send you. ie: there is an accountable trail at all times. You can do this, even if you are purchasing just one racquet, to have the best chance of getting one close to your desired specs. Probably a must do if buying Wilson or play the high-risk QC lottery.

If you do go down this route, wish you a smooth experience as I had. Cheers.
