Matija Pecotic racket

Has anyone seen him play and beat Sock? I haven’t found high quality pictures yet but he was playing a babolat with the very old white and red buttcap. Anyone know what it is? Funny to see.

edit:apparently a nearly 20 year old pure drive

No, he is a real estate investor. He played tennis for Princeton, set records for the Ivy league, then went to Harvard Business School and decided to go into real estate in Florida. The latest news blurb indicated he'd ask for more time off from work to continue to play in this tournament. Sock should retire.
Sock needs to improve his fitness.

LOL!

I've got three of those black 2012 Babolat Pure Drives sitting a few feet away from me right now. Mine are the standard length Roddick version, and in my opinion, that model was one of the best ever in the Pure Drive line. Big power and spin with a great paint job.

At best, Sock should go full time on the doubles tour. He's 30 years old and he is no Federer/Nadal/Djokovic...the sun is setting. He should be looking for his best opportunity to teach tennis, preferably a job that doesn't have any backhand lessons. :)
Yup, another guy with an incredible forehand and absolutely no backhand. Physically you cant run around your back on every shot for ever. You have to be so fit and so fast to do all that running. Eventual your movement will start to decrease as you age and it will expose that backhand more.

I get the distinct impression from all I've heard about Sock that he never committed to what it would take to be a top tier pro. I think this is pretty much the opposite of Stevie Johnson who just doesn't have the ability. Sock has coasted along on a cloud of talent and now that he is getting older, the cloud is dispersing.

That’s what happens. Age catches up to everyone eventually.

Those rackets Pecotic used were released by Babolat from 2012 to 2014. They were called the Babolat Pure Drive GT (in black, shiny light blue, and white color). The strings he has on could be Babolat RPM blast (I'm not not sure), but I pretty sure about those rackets.
I own six of those rackets that I still use today, having purchased them in 2013. I've tried every Pure Drive that Babolat has made since then and I haven't found the need to change these yet. They serve me quite well. It is great to see a college player from those days take down a former top 10 player using these rackets.
