Mats Wilander: Not sure we will ever see Naomi Osaka win a Grand Slam again

This is ridiculous. For bashing her this way I hope Osaka wins a lot more. She lost a tough match, really and against a player who was playing very well.

I thought I saw she held match-point in this loss. Hardly signs of a hopeless case.

He's called Trollander for a reason. I'd be quite surprised if Osaka didn't have another AO or USO left in her, she's too young and too good on HC.

I don’t, but a degree of consideration is necessary when the game is in poor hands.

How do you think Steffi would’ve shaped up in the early days if Martina carried on like a ****in lunatic and couldn’t take her L?
Maybe because Serena was the game for the past decade?

I would not answer that second question how you imagine -- I believe that Steffi should have been more honest during that particular moment *Shrug*

Naomi's definitely changing and sort of maturing. Now she's actually laughing at her bad shots and even her losses, and after the AO, she's closing her Twitter and Instagram accounts. Not bad. Now she needs to drop that stupid golddigger rapper boyfriend and all the SJW crap and focus on her tennis, and she could go places. Maybe.

She also needs to take some Japanese classes so she can actually reply in press conferences and talk to her family. Either that or finally admit she does not like Japan, isn't interested in having any relation with the country or that side of the family and that it was all a big publicity stunt by her father/managers to make more money. It must be horribly mentally exhausting having to pretend to have a connection to a country whose language you can't speak.

I hope she uses this quote to motivate herself to win more grand slams than Mats Wilander.

She claims not to speak it, but she probably does, just not as well as "some" people would like.

There was a story about how she was playing in a tournament with other Japanese youngsters, and they made a comment about her with her standing right there.

She might not like speaking, and she might feel like she can speak it well enough for an interview, but it doesn't mean she doesn't speak any Japanese.
