Matteo is an idol

These messages written on the camera after matches are becoming pathetic. When did this happen? I don't remember Djokovic or Nadal writting these messages on camera in their prime.
He wrote that after beating Hurkacz in Turin. Sinner replaced Matteo who pulled out with abdominal injury. I think Sinner just want to respect his fellow countryman.

They used to sign the camera in some tournaments, dunno when that started

It's one of the most played out things ever. There's nothing novel anymore about the player getting an extreme close-up and looking like he's writing right at you. All you're left with is a scribble you can't read, so then they have to get another camera on that camera to make the message legible. It's ridiculous.

This was just a nice message. Most of the time when players write on the camera it is to acknowledge fans who are watching from home. How is that pathetic?

Really shows what difference perspective makes.
Both of the below are correct:

1) Matteo is an idol (mainly for Italians)
2) Matteo is a mug with no backhand (for tennis pro)

Now that Matteo has been martyred in this tournament, Sinner is thinking, "hey, I'm from northern Italy, we're playing in northern Italy, how about a little more Sinner love??"

I never thought I’d look back wistfully at some of the earlier abject nonsense written on the lenses.

I know many of you already forgot Tim’s “FOR THE OCEANS”, but I didn’t, and now I won’t let you forget again, for it is an important message that transcends the sport, time, and all sense itself.

Sinner was just cheering Berrettini up because of the injury! I don't think he would have written that otherwise.
