Mayami strings

I have played with full-bed Hit Pro on my PS97L. Compared to Tour Hex, I think the stiffness is pretty much equivalent, maybe a bit higher than Tour Hex. However, I think the vibration from Hit Pro is more than Tour Hex, and Tour Hex has more control and spin.
I like the hybrid with both

I finally tried the famous tour hex 1.23 on full bed at 47/45.5 on my DR 98 for some good 3 hours of heavy hitting and sets so i have a good opinion now about it.
While stringing it i thought it was going to be quite stiff cause with the drop weight machine the counter balance arm/weight would not give in much at all.
However when hitting i was happily surprise it was pretty soft, at least at the tension i strung my racquet.
As far as power which was what i cared the most the string performed pretty much like my regular string Big hitter 7 black but with maybe a smidge more of power and directional control, however with a bit more feeling and ball pocketing probably because at equal tension it felt a little softer than Big hitter 7 black.
What i did not like with this string was the serve, however the DR 98 does not shine on serves. I could not get what i wanted like out wide serves and it lacked of power.
After all i liked the string quite a lot especially the fact it is a 1.23 gauge is the perfect diameter in my opinion for a DR98 which has a tight 16x19 string pattern.
In a different racquet maybe a couple of points stiffer than the DR98 would perform even better.
So far the better string on my DR 98 was Head lynx tour 1.25 grey but with the problem it was a little stiffer and the 1.25 gauge runs larger.

Ye i think Head Lynx Tour is a perfect "competitor" comparison to Mayami Tour Hex. There are some pros and cons and I even change my mind with each string gauge (I tried 1.23 and 1.28 tour hex and 1.25 and 1.30 lynx tour)

Supposedly there should be a 1.20 of lynx tour coming out, at least that is what i heard. I would love to try that!
If there were a 1.20 of tour hex i think i would like that too maybe even better for my racquet. Hopefully this weekend if the temps bump up a bit i can hit again with tour hex and report back my impressions.

The 1.20 gauge is already out, check out the Lynx Tour thread

I believe they sell the black version in 1.20 (at least they did on its release). It looks like their big yellow competitor has the monopoly on the 1.20 gauge
I can't see it anywhere, i checked a few times and also the competitors, nothing unfortunately.

I just looked and it seems TW have pulled it or sold out. Similarly, the yellow company gets it in periodically but sells out fast so you need to check daily, that was the only way that I manage to get some.

Did anyone based in the US have any issue with the card during the purchase of Myami strings?
I honestly thought that Myami had a warehouse in the US

Quick question, has anyone seen stiffness numbers for any of the mayami strings yet?

I am going to reach out to the company they use because they charged my card $20 more than they were supposed to
They have a warehouse in NJ I believe, but they process their payments in Ukraine, so unless you use a No Foreign Traction Fee card, you're gonna get hit with extra fees.

Thats not clear at all on their site, and I was "overcharged" with my order too. When I reached out they explained that its due to their payment processor being in Ukraine.

I personally found the whole thing off-putting. My order shipped from NJ and arrived in 2 days, yet I got hit with a Foreign transaction fee.

I believe it is actually not them, but your bank. My credit card used not to add any ‘fees’ when I paid in European currencies. Then, one year, they started charging me. I had to open a separate card in Europe just to avoid this nonsense.
Mayami may also help avoid this, if they would not route all payments back to Ukraine.

I had no idea of these extra charges because located in Ukraine and i honestly don't like the fact it is not disclosed!
It sounds like they don't care to keep the buyers happy!

I get it but we pay in dollars so regardless of where the money goes we should not pay any extra fee, right!?

I've not ordered lately because I stocked up on my most popular strings but it seems like I was charged like a $4 or $5 fee by my bank for the last order. Sadly, PayPal won't do business in Ukraine, which is kind of funny since the original founder and coder is a Ukrainian immigrant.

Don't blame Mayami Strings. The fee isn't going into their accounts but to the banks handling the transaction.

Interestingly enough, I like Magic Twist mains on a Pure Drive Tour ‘21, and it’s quite comfy. Granted, I have Ghost Wire crosses too but I do find that Magic Twist itself is comfortable.

To be honest, no other site in Europe mentions any extra fees. Angell, Züs, Kneissl, Stringway. I do not remember even Tennis-Warehouse-Europe mentioning any fees. But if you are paying with a US card, a small fee will be there.

But I think the point is the other places don't ship from their warehouse in New Jersey. Those other places products actual originate in Europe (in terms of shipping from retailer to customer)

It seems now that my payment was accepted but with it i saw a 4$ extra charge which is probably the hidden (Ukraine) process charge we are seeing added to the check out!

Could be a foreign transaction fee? not every card waives that

It could be! however it was added later cause once i paid for the string i checked my bank account and i saw a specific amount of $ but pending, after a day i saw that $4 were added to it.

I just got some Tour Hex, Big Spin and Magic Twist.

As someone who regularly plays 1.25 Hyper G Soft/1.22 Ghost Wire at 44/42 in a weighted up Extreme Tour 16x19 what do you think i should string these at? I am going to cross them with Ghost Wire. I typically play poly 6-8 hours at most before it breaks or I cut it out, so long term tension maintenance is not a high priority. It is playability and comfort.

Based on the perceived comfort and power levels I was thinking Tour Hex at 42/40 and Big Twist at 45/43. I have no idea on the Magic Twist.

Any suggestions?

I like 47/44

I strung tour hex on my DR98 at 48/46 and was fine. Tour hex is soft enough otherwise use your usual tension or maybe a couple of lbs higher. However the ET is a little more stiff than my DR so maybe start with the usual tension.
Check the "ultimate string of choice" thread for Big spin and magic twist info.

pretty good deal for folks that string alot:

Reels 200m: the minimum amount of purchase at a time is 10 any reels ( can be mix ). Discount Code : Reels50%

Sets 12mm: minimum number of sets 50 pcs.
Discount code : Sets50%

@nyta2 - Thanks for that.

In other news, what's the deal with Tour Hex 1.28 for the USA? Both sets and reels have been removed from the USA website. Are we just SOL at this point? No more, ever?

According to the company, 1.28 was not a big seller. I asked the owner about availability and he said it might be offered again in the future. However, for now, due to the war with Russia and supply chain issues, it is no longer available.
