Mayami strings

Hi everyone,

I see Mayami strings are gaining popularity but nobody talk about them on this forum.

Anybody had the chance to try one of their strings ? What is your feedback ?

Apparently some of them play like alu power but with better tension maintenance...

Thank you
Cheers

Yes!

Mayami Tour Hex 1.23

Really intrigued by this string, strung it at 53lbs in my Pure Strike and instantly liked it. Straight off the machine the string was crisp and responsive. I hit a heavy ball and my playing partner said he could feel the spin coming through off the Astro Turf surface we play on.

I found on volleys I gained extra confidence. Felt so easy and comfortable to play all different kinds of volleys easily.

Lots of extra "pop" and power from these strings as they loosen off and go down towards 50lbs. Definitely one to try if you can get your hands on it!!

I got free Test Sets of Big Spin and Tour Hex... and yes, I am very impressed, too. Big Spin is really a nice comfortable string. The Spin support is very high, like Solstice Power but much more durability and tension stability. Plays great after 6h now. The Power level is perfect for me in my Tours 310g with 52lbs. I ordered a reel of Big Spin and will hybrid it with RS Lyon Cross.

Check the thread at stringerforum and get a free test samples, 5$ for shipping.

Where you guys find this string? I can't find it on eb-- or google.
What's the price like and playability duration?
I am using pro kennex iq hexa 1.10 at a really good price for its duration.

I look forward to this as I have read many great reviews about MAYAMI strings especially the Tour Hex that has been rated as the number 1 best control string of the month on the stringforum .

I acquired a set of the MAYAMI BIG SPIN via their website. This is an excellent string and has great potential and I couldn't believe the amount of spin induced. The durability, feel and comfort is unbelievable. This string is receiving rave reviews on the stringforum and has been voted the number one string of the month in the spin division.

These strings are well appreciated in Europe so far.

Thanks Adamino for this reply. Yes really MAYAMI Tour Hex were almost all this month #1 in Top 5 strings of the month on stringforum, among all strings, now on second place.
Also Tour Hex # 1 in category control and MAYAMI Big Spin # 1 in category in Spin.

Yes, really looking to forward the upcoming reviews (y)
Concerning raving reviews till yet, one point that has to be considered: most playtesters are 99% mayami string testers... I don't want to be too critical, but this is quite strange ;), as they would be 100% Mayami dedicated...
I first need to be convinced by more traditional and cross-brand reviewers, and would then be interested to test also :)

I honestly understand your doubt, criticism and distrust ;), but this is normal since I understand you since we are a new brand in the market of tennis strings. But since May, we have distributed for free on stringforum who wrote to us each of 5 different sets of types of our strings, and we have already distributed more than 300 sets for free. But unfortunately, only 10% of people left their feedback and we did not choose to send it to anyone, we sent it out to everyone who wanted to test it because we wanted everyone to try our strings and we did not think first that we would get into the Top 5 or other indicators on the forum.
If you are very interested, you can write me in a personal or e-mail that you can find on our website and I will give you evidence of our shipments to more than 50 different people, since I can not give links to the site here.
You can also find on YouTube a video review of our string Mayami Tour Hex on the video channel of a big Brazilian tennis store with English subtitles or on our Mayamistrings facebook page that you can find on the site.
We have a really good product that we have been developing for a long time producing in Taiwan to really pleasantly surprise our customers with innovative developments. Sincerely, Yaroslav Milchenko

Great, looking forward. And if there is a playtest via tennis-warehouse (or if it were possible to send samples in Switzerland!) I would be glat to test the string(s) !

Wow.

One question: can it be strung at 60lbs for crosses only? Will it be comfortable?

Please keep us posted; I was about to order a reel of Firewire so curious about how it compares to Big Spin -- particularly spin, tension maintenance, control, arm-friendliness? Thx

While I have around eight guys who I string their mains Firewire and either poly or sgut cross, I have not hit with FireWire in while because I've been testing a bunch of other strings brands. When I go out to hit next, I plan to string another stick with FireWire mains and Magic Twist in the crosses to get a direct comparison. Here are my thoughts so far:

spin - A++
Pretty hefty spin production. Except when I tried to hit a flat ball once or twice, I really didn't, almost could not hit a ball long. Wide because I set up late or mistimed a stroke, yes. Long? Not often enough to notice. Oh, and very nice acceleration off the bounce.

tension maintenance - No data yet. Only hit with it for an hour.

control - A
Maybe I had a good day, but I was hitting spots way more consistently than usual. The one thing that stood out is how much better volleys are than I remember with the last time I played with Firewire at the net.

arm-friendliness - A
Really didn't notice any discomfort. But, I did put it in a 13.4 oz Pure Control 97 with Magic Twist as the cross. At that weight, my arm doesn't really don't feel much shock no matter what string I use. I strung it effective tension was 40 mains/34 crosses.

Bottom line though, I totally enjoyed hitting Twist n Spin combo today. FWIW, after the first ten ground strokes I pretty much made up my mind to add both strings to my inventory.

I bought one of each set at the beginning of November, and they still haven't arrived yet. When I check the package's status it tells me it's still in Kyiv.

You will probably receive them early this week. It took nearly two weeks for my order to arrive.

Good day

Usually shipping time is about 7-14 days, depends on the country and region in a particular country. We tried to make the lowest possible prices with free delivery. If we deliver in 3-5 days, we will be forced to take 20-30 dollars for delivery, which will not be convenient for our customers.
Please do not hesitate to contact us and we will always try to help you, as they often write on the delivery forum but they don’t provide us with a track number.

Since we are a new brand, we are currently working on various delivery methods. In the near future, our representative office in the United States will open, which will significantly speed up the delivery time and we will deliver it within 2-3 days.

I will be play testing Mayami Hit Pro 1.25 as a smooth crossstring with VS Team 17 natural gut, when it arrives.
Stringforum reports it as: Comfortable, explosive, solid, precise
#3 Poly Rated Overall
Reportedly lays like: Yonex Poly Tour Pro 125 w/ better control & comfort

I tested Hit Pro. The most I liked was the feel.
It has very good control and spin. And more power then YPTP.

After some weeks break due to TE problems, I had the chance to hit the court again today.
I string my Blade v7.0 16x19 with nat gut mains and different crosses, so I tried the tour hex as crosses. Stringed it on my own with 23,5kg Wilson nat gut and 21,5kg Mayami tour hex. Really liked the spin, control was more than average, comfortwise without pain after 1/2 hour hitting and 2 sets on carpet.
I‘m definitely going to string a second racquet with it, maybe 1/2 or 1kg tighter. I know I‘m on the lower side of tension, last season I had different polys at 18-20kg...

Installed Magic twist 1.25mm @ 49 / 47 pounds in a Yonex HD 97 {18x20} for 4.5 male serve and volley player.
He compared it to Tourna BH7 Tour in his other frames and felt it had more controllable power and greater comfort.
I will update this after I get feedback from his weekend matches.

I have three players using it full bed and another guy like me who plays it in a hybrid with Big Spin mains. All three full bed players first commented on control and the pace they can generate giving them ability to hit the shots they wanted consistently with confidence. I played with it at low tension (m: 45#/x:39#) and like the feedback on touch shots and volleys. I got ample pace from just flicking my wrist. A solid string set up for baseline grinding.

I've now played about 6 hours with Mayami Big Spin and I'm still impressed: Great spin, good power + control and a nice feeling. Especially my backhand works very well with this strings. It really makes fun to play with Big Spin!
Unfortunately, all tennis courts are closed now in my region because of the coronavirus.
