Tour Hex has a much higher stiffness. Plus it is not a slippery string. This will up the stiffness and reduce sliding. In short, you will completely neutralize the best qualities of Big Spin.

Also, almost every hybrid has softer mains and stiffer cross i think Big spin mains tour hex crosses can be dangerously good

It's comfortable. I strung it at 51/49, but now that it gets warmer, I'll raise the tension a bit, perhaps 53/51 in my Pure Aero 2019.

Have you tried WeissCanon UltraCable? Surprisingly soft and durable while being the most spin-friendly string I've used. Regular hitting partner said he could see the ball change shape in the air.

I usually go full bed poly at 43lbs whether it's FireWire Boost or TBS.

Stringing up Big Spin mains and Magic Twist crosses tomorrow. Should I aim for 46/40 or how does one go about different tensions when they haven't done so before?

I went 46/41. I think I need to tighten it up a tad. Some forehands are landing just beyond the baseline.

The gauge is a little thicker than the 18g TBS I was using beforehand. I’m sure this has some effect on it as well.

I have had elbow issues in the past as well. I started with BS/GW at 50/47 and loved it, no elbow issues. I decided to try BS/MT and strung it at the same tension. It had a noticeably lower launch angle and after a few hours I started to feel it a bit in my elbow. I went back to BS/GW and that went away. I decided to try again with BS/MT but this time strung it at 51/45. It plays amazing and no elbow issues at that tension. There is a recommendation somewhere on here to string MT at least 5 lbs lower that BS in the hybrid and, for whatever reason, I think that is the key. I just ordered a MT reel during the sale to go with my BS reel.

That's going to depend on the stick I think. I'm using Pure Control frames with at least an extra ounce and half of mass and don't feel a thing. Just strung another setup a couple of days ago, trying it at BS 42#/MT 36#. Looking at my notes, the first time I played it I was at 46/40.

I recommend #6, but I'm sure five works just as well. One of these days I should try a bit wider gap.

Yes, I played with that string quite often in the past. Definitely very spin-friendly. However, I didn't like the feel (too disconnected), launch angle is too high, tension maintenance poor. It plays (and weighs) like a thick and heavy string. Nowadays I gravitate towards modestly shaped strings such as TH or TS. Mayami Big Spin is a bit of an exception.

it has been a while since I played with Oehms strings. From what I remember, they were more on the soft and lively side, at least the black pearl ones. A bit cyclonish. Tour Hex is much more control oriented and Big Spin is quite unique with its shape. Nowadays out of all of them I would gravitate the most towards Tour Hex.

i will put Tour Hex in one of my racquets next. Currently Toroline Caviar, 4GS, and ALU Power are in my main racquets and the strings still seem to hit okay. Mayami Big Spin and Magic Twist are on deck as well.

IMO Tour Hex is great if you need control. I couldn’t generate much power with it. BS worked better for me.
I just tried hyper g soft and I’m really liking it on my Clash 100. The spin has remained consistent at 8+ hours. I felt BS changing sooner. That said, I strung HGS 2 lbs higher so I’ll try that with BS next.

Ah okay, I misunderstood your angle. I think you'll be fine with your product and I'd be extremely surprised if you had any issues. The string is exactly what you'd expect reading the specs and reviews. Big spin, decent comfort but... I just didn't feel I could play a tournament with it in every frame.

I recently bought a reel of BS after trying it and really liking it. Then just tried Hyper G soft and I'm loving it
Wish I would've held off.. LOL

Regarding Alu Power, I've tried AP in a Prestige, didn't feel it was worth the cost - but I wasn't a great player back then. Not saying that I'm good now, but I'm better! ahah

More recently I've tried VS Touch with Alu Power Rough. I was hoping it would last a bit. Well, it lasted 5 hours.

I had Tour Hex again in a DR98. Last time I made a mistake and strung it directly after putting new grommets in and not adjusting tension accordingly.

Wow! My new favorite string so far, I would say even better than Tour Sniper for me (bit more crisp). Phenomenal control. I couldn’t really miss a shot and was swinging for the fences for an hour. Ultimately more versatile and durable than Big Spin. Ended up buying a reel.

I like the feel of Hit Pro strung tighter, to me it is a bit more lively than Tour Hex.

You would want to increase the tension with new grommets until they are settled in - at least that's the lesson I learned.

I thought that Magic Twist was average and inferior to Tour Hex in every category that matters.

I haven't tried magic twist, however Mayami's own description says MT is their comfort string while TH is control. I think TH does everything pretty well and is still comfortable

Goodness, are you playing an 18x20 frame to go so low and an exaggerated differential? It looks like you're going after a soft, powerful and higher launch string bed

No. I’m playing with the Clash 100. The Clash works very well at low tensions and I’m almost a year removed from a bad case of GE. 46 or 48 mains has been the magic number for me on the Clash. The differential is based on advice on this forum to string MT at least 5 lbs lower than the mains

Luckily, I don’t snap it. I just feel like the edges wear out fast and lose spin faster than HGS

The clash is a light racquet so you probably can get away with that low a tension. However i don't get any advice of such an exaggerated tension differential with any string and on a very open pattern like the clash. You may be softening it up but you're pushing the launch angle upward.

Completely agree on the launch angle. It’s definitely high. I hit with heavy topspin so it’s worked for me. I have a Clash 98 on order. Once I lose the fear of injuring my elbow again I think I’ll try switching back to the next Blade or something similar.

I just feel like people will eventually end up with Tour Hex, Big Spin or Big Spin/Tour Hex hybrid.
Hit Pro is for minority (how many of amateur players play with round profile string I now wonder...)
, Magic Twist hard to say as in 1.25 it felt like a better PTP and 1.30 felt almost the same to me as Babolat RPM Blast Rough. Where Hepta power is standing I have no idea but I can see some Mayami pros using a hybrid of Big Spin and Hepta Power..

That's actually a good idea using lux orig just mains kinda high so yeah, go lower.
